This pivotal role involves designing and executing comprehensive development strategies to advance our mission, cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and secure vital funding through innovative campaigns and grant initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for social impact, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record in building sustainable fundraising programs that drive organizational growth. SUMMARY:
The Director of Development is responsible for supporting all fundraising activities, and donor/sponsor solicitation strategies to enhance giving and donor relationships, and manages donor databases, and preparing reports from the organization's donor management system (i.e.: Donor Perfect, Fundraise Up, Greater Giving), and maintains communications (social media, website, digital newsletter, press, and print/digital collateral).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
include the following:
  • Actively support Fundraising Committee (and/or special group) to implement project plans for special events, update event budgets, manage event site coordination, and prepare post-event evaluations.
Successfully manage memorable, entertaining, and relevant events that impact annual revenue and bring awareness to the mission and values of Bridge to Home. Coordinate all event details and tasks, including scheduling fundraising and public relations events to optimize outcomes, researching and securing vendors, managing vendor contracts and work orders, booking venues, identifying volunteer needs and effectively staffing the events, and overseeing all aspects of an event (from press and publicity, registration, set up, catering, audio/visual, etc., clean up, etc., to donor and contractor follow up).
  • Find new donors and maintain good relationships with existing donors; respond to inquiries from potential and/or existing donors.
  • Ensures donor and financial donation is recorded in the donor database in a timely manner.
  • Tracks financial success of development activities, including all revenue and expenses.
  • Identify and maintain a list of donations and sponsorship needs for events and organizations.
  • Create marketing campaigns to advertise and bring awareness to the organization, and its mission, and develop funding.
  • Create or work together with graphic designers to develop fundraising and funding campaign materials for print and digital distribution.
Create or support the creation of event promotional materials and content for social media platforms, our website, press, and other publicity. Primary marketing liaison to produce and develop contentfor the website, social media, e-mail, e-newsletters and e-appeals, and fundraising events - has a flare for graphic design.
  • Responsible for overseeing and executing mass fund development mailers and newsletters, through regular postal mail, email, and social media.
  • Manage and supervise event volunteers and tasks.
  • Manage inventory of event materials and order event materials as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    EXPERIENCE BA
    Degree in a related field (communications, marketing, public relations…) preferred and/or three to five years of related development experience: required Experience in the non-profit sector preferred
    • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
    • Ability to plan short and long-range activities
    • Experience with social media marketing is required.
    Must have excellent skills and experience in social media platforms and relational software tools such as, Canva, Donor Perfect, Survey Monkey, Microsoft Suite, Outlook and Teams, Adobe, and Constant Contact. Excellent interpersonal skills (written and oral communication skills, including phone presence). Experience and understanding of budgets. A person who works hard, speaks his/her mind, thrives in a high-support, high-performance environment, and loves fundraising.
    • Ability to successfully work in a team environment.
    Ability to meet deadlines while managing multiple projects, both guided and self-directed.
    LANGUAGE SKILLS
    Ability to read and interpret documents such as rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of stakeholders, community members, donors or board members of organizations.
    REASONING ABILITY
    to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.     WORK ENVIRONMENT
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to work in outside weather conditions, including wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. Typically, the job will be performed in an office setting in which the noise level and temperature are usually moderate and controlled. The majority of the duties of this position are performed in a typical office environment but be required to work in areas inhabited by homeless persons, which may include working in unclean environments and with challenging individuals.
    WEEKLY HOURS
    40 hours per week; available evenings and weekend
