Job Description

Development Coordinator (P/T) Part-time, non-exempt (24 hours per week) Salisbury, CT Help older adults stay safe, connected, and independent at home. www.choreservice.org CHORE Service is a nonprofit dedicated to helping older adults and people with disabilities live safely, independently, and comfortably in their homes and communities. Through non-medical support and community partnerships, we help people maintain their independence, dignity, and connection to the communities they call home. Position Summary Reporting to the Executive Director, the Development Coordinator is a hands-on member of the development team who supports fundraising, donor stewardship, communications, events, and administrative activities that advance CHORE's mission. Working closely with the Executive Director, this position helps implement development initiatives, maintain donor records in Little Green Light, prepare donor communications and materials, and support fundraising campaigns and events. The Development Coordinator also helps strengthen the processes and systems that support the organization's development plan and fundraising operations. This role offers a meaningful opportunity to impact CHORE's mission by helping build the resources and relationships that enable older adults and individuals with disabilities to remain safe, independent, and connected. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, initiative, and collaboration are essential for success in this role. Donor Relations & Stewardship Process and acknowledge charitable contributions promptly. Maintain accurate donor and constituent records in Little Green Light. Generate donor lists, reports, and fundraising metrics. Coordinate donor stewardship activities. Ensure donor communications are timely, accurate, and personalized. Annual Appeals & Fundraising Support Coordinate and support annual fundraising campaigns, including direct mail and online appeals. Coordinate development mailings by mail and email. Assist with campaign tracking, reporting, and follow-up activities. Prepare fundraising mailing lists, materials, and donor correspondence. Track, reconcile, and report fundraising results and revenue data. Communications Assist with gift processing, record maintenance, database quality assurance, and preparation of reports, acknowledgments, mailing lists, and development materials. Events Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising events and donor appreciation activities. Support event registrations, sponsorship tracking, logistics, and attendee communications. Administrative Support Assist with gift processing, record maintenance, database quality assurance, and preparation of reports, acknowledgments, mailing lists, and development materials. Contribute to the development and refinement of administrative processes, workflows, and documentation that strengthen fundraising operations and support the agency's development plan. Perform other administrative and development support duties as assigned. Qualifications Two years of experience in fundraising, event planning, donor relations, communications, nonprofit development, or a related field. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to write clear, professional donor communications and correspondence. Experience maintaining databases and producing reports; Little Green Light or similar CRM software preferred. Experience working with donors, volunteers, or community members in a professional or volunteer setting. Ability to handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel. Experience using donor prospecting software, such as DonorSearch, preferred. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with donors, volunteers, community partners, and stakeholders. Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and to handling sensitive donor and organizational information appropriately.
Compensation & Benefits Hourly Rate:
$26.00-$30.00 per hour, based on experience. A flexible 24-hour-per-week schedule at our Salisbury, CT office. Paid sick leave in accordance with Connecticut law. Special Requirements & Physical Demands Willingness to answer the office phone and to direct calls as needed. Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, video conference, and email. Willingness to travel locally for agency-related activities. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and auto insurance are required. Mileage reimbursement is provided for approved business-related travel. Flexibility to occasionally work outside normal business hours for fundraising events and organizational activities. Ability to pass an employment background check. Must be willing and able to complete all required agency and state-mandated training, including sexual harassment prevention training and elder abuse recognition and reporting training. Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while performing office work or attending events. Ability to occasionally lift, carry, move, and set up materials, supplies, and event-related items weighing up to 20 pounds.
