Position Summary The Development Director is responsible for leading and implementing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that ensures the long-term financial sustainability of Girls Inc. of Bay County. This position cultivates relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, foundations, and community stakeholders while overseeing fundraising events, donor stewardship, sponsorships, grants, and annual giving initiatives. Working closely with the Executive Director and Board of Directors, the Development Director will identify new funding opportunities, strengthen community partnerships, and inspire philanthropic investment in the mission of Girls Inc. of Bay County. Primary Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the organization's annual fundraising and development plan.
  • Build, cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with individual donors, corporate sponsors, foundations, civic organizations, and community partners.
  • Manage all aspects of donor cultivation, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition.
  • Research, identify, and pursue new funding opportunities, including grants, sponsorships, and major gifts.
  • Prepare compelling grant proposals, sponsorship packages, fundraising appeals, and donor communications.
  • Coordinate annual giving campaigns and recurring donor initiatives.
  • Plan and oversee fundraising events including sponsorship recruitment, donor engagement, volunteer coordination, and event execution.
  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director to establish annual fundraising goals and revenue projections.
  • Maintain accurate donor records, gift acknowledgements, reports, and fundraising metrics within the organization's donor database.
  • Prepare regular fundraising reports for the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
  • Help with marketing to develop fundraising campaigns, impact stories, newsletters, social media content, and donor recognition materials.
  • Develop strategies to increase donor retention, donor acquisition, and major gift opportunities.
  • Assist with budget development and revenue forecasting related to development activities.
  • Represent Girls Inc. of Bay County at community meetings, networking events, civic organizations, and fundraising functions.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements, grant reporting deadlines, and ethical fundraising standards. Secondary Responsibilities
  • Attend Board of Directors meetings and participate in Development Committee meetings.
  • Recruit and support fundraising volunteers and event committees.
  • Collaborate with program staff to gather stories, data, and outcomes for grant reporting and donor communications.
  • Assist with strategic planning and organizational growth initiatives.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Represent the organization through public speaking engagements when appropriate.
  • Support organization-wide events and initiatives as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned by the Executive Director. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree preferred in nonprofit management, communications, business, marketing, public relations, or related field. Equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of three years of nonprofit fundraising, development, sales, business development, or related experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success securing grants, sponsorships, major gifts, or corporate partnerships.
  • Strong relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Experience planning fundraising events and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience using donor management software or CRM systems preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace required.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for meetings and fundraising events.
  • Valid Florida driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass Level I and Level II criminal background screening. Key Attributes

Additional Information This position serves as a key member of the leadership team and plays an essential role in advancing the mission and sustainability of Girls Inc. of Bay County. Occasional evening and weekend work is expected to support fundraising events, donor meetings, and community engagement opportunities.

$55,000.00 - $59,000.00 per year
