Full-time About the Greater Alliance Foundation The Greater Alliance Foundation (GAF) is a community foundation dedicated to strengthening the greater Alliance community by serving and connecting people, resources, and needs through philanthropic giving. We build lasting charitable assets, support local nonprofits, and inspire generosity that creates meaningful community impact. Position Summary GAF is seeking a strategic, relationship-driven professional to serve as Director of Advancement. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this position will lead efforts to grow philanthropic support, develop new donors, expand charitable funds, and strengthen relationships throughout the community. This is a hands-on fundraising role within a small, collaborative organization. The ideal candidate is an energetic, self-directed professional who enjoys building relationships, identifying opportunities, making fundraising requests, and helping turn charitable intentions into lasting community impact. Key Responsibilities Fund Development and Philanthropic Growth Develop and execute strategies to increase charitable giving, attract new donors, and grow GAF's long-term philanthropic assets. Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual donors, major-gift prospects, fundholders, and prospective fundholders. Build and manage a portfolio of donor and prospect relationships, maintaining consistent contact and meaningful engagement. Support and advance the Foundation's annual campaign, major-gift initiatives, planned giving, and legacy giving efforts. Identify and develop opportunities to establish new charitable funds, including donor-advised, scholarship, donor designated, field of interest and agency funds with a focus on endowments. Develop and strengthen relationships with corporations, foundations, businesses, professional advisors, and other philanthropic partners. Work with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees to identify and pursue significant philanthropic opportunities. Establish and track measurable advancement goals and report regularly on progress. Donor Cultivation, Solicitation, and Stewardship Develop genuine, long-term relationships with donors and prospective donors by understanding their charitable interests, goals, and motivations. Initiate conversations about charitable giving and confidently present opportunities to support GAF's mission. Prepare for and participate in donor visits, presentations, fundraising meetings, and solicitation conversations. Provide exceptional stewardship to donors and fundholders through timely communication, recognition, impact reporting, and ongoing engagement. Identify opportunities to connect donor interests with community needs and the Foundation's philanthropic programs. Strengthen donor retention and encourage increased or continued giving. Community and Philanthropic Partnerships Represent the GAF throughout the community in a professional, enthusiastic, and mission-centered manner. Build relationships with nonprofit leaders, civic organizations, business leaders, professional advisors, and other community stakeholders. Attend community meetings, networking opportunities, presentations, and events that create opportunities for donor development and philanthropic partnerships. Develop partnerships that increase awareness of GAF and generate new charitable giving opportunities. Communicate the Foundation's mission, impact, and philanthropic opportunities in a compelling and authentic manner. Advancement Communications and Events Develop donor communications, impact stories, presentations, and materials that support fundraising and donor engagement. Coordinate or support donor gatherings, fundraising events, stewardship activities, and philanthropic initiatives. Collaborate with the Executive Director and outside marketing or communications resources, as applicable, to strengthen GAF's visibility and fundraising efforts. Ensure that communications and events are aligned with the Foundation's advancement goals. Advancement Operations and Collaboration Maintain accurate and timely donor, prospect, and fundholder records in the Foundation's software system. Ensure procedures, calendars, templates, and institutional knowledge are current and sufficiently documented. Track donor interactions, cultivation activities, solicitations, gifts, and progress toward advancement goals. Monitor and report on fundraising activity, relationship development, and philanthropic growth. Work closely with the Executive Director and the Development Committee to advance fundraising priorities and strengthen donor relationships. Manage projects independently, meet deadlines, and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment. Perform other duties and responsibilities as needed to support the Foundation's mission. Qualifications The ideal candidate will demonstrate: Strong relationship-building, interpersonal, and communication skills. A genuine interest in philanthropy and strengthening the greater Alliance community. The ability to cultivate relationships, identify opportunities, and confidently ask for philanthropic support. Demonstrated initiative and the ability to develop new relationships and build a donor pipeline. Strategic thinking combined with strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, including storytelling, presentations, and persuasive communication. Professionalism, discretion, integrity, and sound judgment when handling confidential donor and financial information. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently in a small-team environment. Experience in fundraising, development, sales, business development, nonprofit leadership, relationship management, or a related field. Experience with CRM systems; familiarity with Foundant CommunitySuite is a plus. Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered. Seven or more years of relevant professional experience is preferred. Preferred Experience We welcome candidates from a variety of professional backgrounds. Experience in one or more of the following areas will be especially valuable: Fundraising, advancement, or major-gift development. Donor, fundholder, or client relationship management. Sales, business development, or consultative relationship-based revenue generation. Corporate, foundation, or community partnership development. Nonprofit, community, or philanthropic leadership. Planned giving, legacy giving, or charitable fund development. Communications, storytelling, public engagement, or event planning. Salary Range:
