Betsy Altadena

General Manager

Entry-Level JobVerifiedNo experience needed

Job Description

Help wanted - It's time for Betsy to add a key human to the leadership team. General manager is the shorthand but the real job is anything but general management. It's a hybrid of chief roadie, therapist, organizer of talents, and magician. It's not an office job with paperwork and log entries and daily what-have-yous. The ideal candidate is likely on the verge of giving up on hospitality because they've worked in the wrong environment and don't think it's possible to be fulfilled in hospitality even though they love it (That was all of us!). The ideal candidate loves to learn and believes in magic and the benefit of the doubt for each other and our guests. We're a lead from behind company with very strong cultural values and ever present integrity. The job description is quite simple. Make things better. For the team. For our guests. For you. For the community. For our farmers and suppliers. For
DEAR LEADER.
Lead with kindness, curiosity, integrity, by example. Have humility. None of us knows it all and that's the good news. We get to work together every night to learn and make this dinner party memorable. We're a tight-knit team that looks out for each other, for the restaurant, for our guests, and our community. We lead with integrity and kindness in every area of our business. We have fun while we work hard and take our business seriously. We have the greatest guests in the world, and we're lucky to host this dinner party every night. Half of us swore off restaurants until we started working together. We don't do restaurant drama or gossip. We share stories, make memories, have dinner together before service, and pitch in on a wonderfully meaningful restaurant. Oh and we make good money as a byproduct of doing everything else. Turn ons include - Humility, vulnerability, being wrong from time to time and admitting it. A passion for making magic and finding cracks in the experience that we can fill with energy and hospitality. Solving problems before they happen. Solving problems really well after they happen and learning from them. Leading a team to ever greater heights. Passion for food and wine. Knowledge of wine is probably a prerequisite. If you have the vibes and energy and no knowledge of any of and still think this is your place, email us.
