Responsibilities include supplier development, purchasing negotiations, customer and market development, market analysis, contract execution, logistics coordination, quality and claims management, profitability management, and commercial risk control. The position requires substantial knowledge of the U.S. scrap recycling and international trading markets, an established industry network, the ability to independently develop profitable business, and strong commercial judgment and negotiation skills. Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese is required to communicate effectively with U.S.-based suppliers and service providers, as well as the Company's overseas management and business teams. Responsibilities 1. Business and Market Development Develop and execute business plans for the U.S. and North American ferrous scrap market and achieve annual purchasing, sales volume, gross-margin, and account-development targets. Identify, develop, and maintain relationships with scrapyards, processors, brokers, industrial scrap generators, traders, and other supply sources. Develop domestic and international customers and establish stable and sustainable purchasing and sales channels. Conduct regular supplier and customer visits and maintain long-term commercial relationships. Monitor and analyze regional supply, customer demand, competitive activity, mill purchasing policies, and international market developments. 2. Scrap Purchasing and Sales Manage inquiries, purchasing, sales, and commercial negotiations for HMS, P&S, shredded scrap, busheling, bundles, and other ferrous scrap grades. Establish purchasing and sales prices based on market conditions, material quality, processing costs, inland freight, terminal expenses, ocean freight, and foreign-exchange considerations. Review supplier quotations and negotiate pricing, volume, quality specifications, delivery schedules, and payment terms. Execute transactions within delegated authority and ensure each transaction meets the Company's profitability and risk-control requirements. Maintain business pipelines, quotation records, and purchasing and sales forecasts. 3. Contract and Transaction Execution Prepare, review, or coordinate purchasing contracts, sales contracts, and related commercial documents. Monitor contract execution, loading, weighing, inspection, delivery, settlement, accounts receivable, and accounts payable. Coordinate with logistics, documentation, finance, warehouses, terminals, and overseas teams to ensure timely delivery. Identify and resolve contract delays, weight discrepancies, quality issues, payment delays, and other transaction exceptions. 4. Quality and Claims Management Ensure purchased materials comply with contractual specifications, applicable ISRI specifications, customer requirements, and import/export regulations. Arrange on-site inspections, third-party surveys, photographs, sampling, and loading supervision when required. Investigate and resolve disputes concerning weight, grade, contamination, radioactive material, hazardous materials, and other quality concerns. Coordinate claim resolution with suppliers, customers, insurers, inspection agencies, and internal teams. 5. Profitability and Risk Management Be accountable for volume, revenue, gross margin, operating expenses, inventory turnover, receivables, and contract performance. Complete profitability calculations and transaction risk assessments before confirming transactions. Monitor commodity price, freight, foreign exchange, customer credit, supplier performance, and inventory valuation risks. Comply with the Company's contract approval, credit management, payment approval, and delegated-authority policies. Provide regular reports concerning volume, profitability, market trends, key accounts, and material risks. 6. Team and Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate closely with U.S.-based and overseas purchasing, sales, logistics, finance, and management teams. Supervise or provide guidance to traders, buyers, or business-support personnel as assigned. Assist in developing and improving supplier management, pricing, contract execution, quality-control, and business-reporting processes. Join us in shaping the future of ferrous scrap metal trading!
