Greater Cedar Rapids Area Job Overview The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer of Discovery Living, Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing individualized, lifelong support to adults with developmental disabilities. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for leading the organization in alignment with its mission to promote personal growth, success, and satisfaction through meaningful life experiences. This full-time, salaried position requires a dynamic leader capable of overseeing daily operations, strategic planning, and fostering community relationships to ensure the organization's continued impact and sustainability. Responsibilities Provide overall leadership and strategic direction to advance the organization's mission and goals. Oversee daily operations, ensuring programs are delivered effectively and efficiently in accordance with organizational policies and standards. Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and implement strategic plans, policies, and initiatives. Cultivate strong relationships with community partners, stakeholders, clients, and families to promote awareness and support for the organization's services. Lead fundraising efforts, including grant writing and donor engagement, to secure resources necessary for program sustainability. Manage organizational finances, including budgeting, financial planning, and reporting to ensure fiscal responsibility. Recruit, develop, and retain qualified staff and volunteers committed to the organization's mission. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards related to services for adults with developmental disabilities. Promote a positive organizational culture that emphasizes personal growth for both clients and staff. Experience Proven experience in executive leadership or senior management roles within nonprofit or human services organizations is preferred. Demonstrated ability to develop strategic plans and execute organizational goals effectively. Strong understanding of issues related to developmental disabilities and community-based support services is advantageous. Experience in financial management, fundraising, grant writing, and stakeholder engagement is highly desirable. Excellent communication skills with the ability to inspire teams and build collaborative partnerships. Pay:
$140,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
