Job Description

Our Redeemer Day Care Center in Jacksonville, IL is accepting resumes for the position of Executive Director. The Executive Director is in charge of the administration of the program and policies, takes full authority of grant writing, and oversees the day-to-day operations. This role will be primarily responsible for DCFS compliance, curriculum development, staff coaching and training, child development monitoring, parent engagement related to child development, and other various duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Meet DCFS Director qualifications: a minimum of an Associate Degree in child development or early childhood education OR 64 semester hours in any discipline with a minimum of 21 hours of college credit in child development, early childhood education or early childhood special education AND one of the following: Gateways to Opportunity Level I Illinois Director Credential OR 3 semester hours of college credit in administration, leadership or management OR 3 points of credential-approved training in administration, leadership or management. ARE WILLING TO PROVIDE CANDIDATES WHO ARE CLOSE TO MEETING THESE QUALIFICATIONS THE TIME/RESOURCES NEEDED TO COMPLETE THE QUALIFICATIONS
) At least 21 years of age Valid Illinois Driver's license Ability to pass a thorough background check Minimum of one years' experience directly related to child care Technology skills, including the ability to use Word and Excel and learn new software programs Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organization skills and ability to handle multiple priorities Ability to obtain Food Handler's certification
Preferred Qualifications:
Administrative/managerial experience preferred Ability to become an approved DCFS driver / child transporter Ability to obtain Food Manager and Food Sanitation certifications Thorough understanding of regulations set forth by the Department of Child and Family Services Detailed Essential Functions of this

Supervision of personnel Provide technical assistance to the staff Resolve minor staff complaints as appropriate and within scope Assist staff with lesson planning Maintain records for required staff trainings (including but not limited to DCFS required trainings, monthly staff meetings and in-service trainings) Audit and help maintain staff employee records according to DCFS compliance requirements Provide new staff orientation and maintain orientation materials Related to
Children:
Ensure proper child/staff ratios are maintained at all times Oversee Ages and Stages Questionnaire distribution and completion Audit and help maintain all child files and records to ensure compliance with DCFS and other requirements Assist staff with maintaining child folders Coach and monitor classroom teachers to ensure that the Illinois Learning Standards are being implemented Develop age-appropriate programming for holidays and other special events that enrich and engage children and families Collaborate with Pre-K and School Age teachers to plan and schedule field trips Provide guidance and discipline as needed Related to the Administration of the
Center:
Ensure compliance with the Illinois Department of Children and Families Services for day care licensing standards Champion and assist with ExceleRate Illinois Program and Accreditation Maintain classroom arrangements and set up, ensuring adequate, safe and age-appropriate toys available in classrooms Check for and address recalls on all daycare toys and supplies Research and select classroom supplies; maintain teacher requests for supplies; ensure supplies are shared and maintained across the center Coordinate and record safety drills and other audits in compliance with DCFS standards Work in classrooms for staff lunch coverage, call-ins and bathroom breaks Serve as cook and bus driver, as needed Assist Board of Directors with annual audit, as needed Maintain confidentiality Related to the Development of the
