full-time Our client is looking for an entrepreneurial leader to build and grow its US business within the battery and advanced-materials sector. This is not a traditional corporate General Manager position or an opportunity to inherit an established operation. You will be one of the first leaders on the ground, working closely with the UK team to develop customers, build strategic partnerships and create the foundations of the future US operation. We are looking for someone with a founder's mindset: commercially driven, resourceful and prepared to take personal ownership of making things happen.

The opportunity You will:

Establish and represent the company's US operation. Develop the US market, identifying customers, applications and routes to revenue. Build relationships with industry partners, universities, research organisations, government agencies and economic-development bodies. Lead customer proposals, commercial discussions and partnership opportunities. Work with the UK technical team to commercialise and scale innovative battery-recycling technology. Develop the US business plan, budget, performance targets and growth strategy. Build the local team and establish an entrepreneurial, accountable culture. Create the operational, quality and safety foundations required for future manufacturing. Support the planning and development of the future West Virginia facility. Take increasing responsibility for the US P&L as the operation develops. About you Your current title is less important than what you have already demonstrated. You may be a developing General Manager, Operations Leader, Commercial Leader, Business Development Director, Technical Director or founder who is ready to take broader ownership. You will bring evidence that you have done some of the following: Built a new market, division, operation or revenue stream. Developed customers and converted opportunities into commercial results. Commercialised or scaled an industrial technology or product. Created teams, processes and structure where little previously existed. Taken ownership beyond the boundaries of a conventional job description. Worked effectively within an industrial, engineering, advanced-materials, recycling, chemical-processing or technology-led environment. Managed budgets, commercial performance or a developing P&L. Built relationships with customers, partners and technical stakeholders. Experience in batteries, advanced materials or industrial R D would be valuable but is not essential.
