Founded in 1972 by migrant farmworkers, Centro serves as a hub for Latino culture, economic empowerment, policy advocacy and civic engagement, supportive housing and stabilization, comprehensive food security services, community health and wellness, senior programming; and

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Centro Cultural's Grants Coordinator tells the story of Centro's work and why we do what we do. The Grants Coordinator brings investment to our community to address the challenges we face, supporting all aspects of institutional giving for the organization. With support from the Development Director, the Grants Coordinator plans and implements the organization's grant strategy. The Grants Coordinator is also the primary grant writer for the organization and is supported by the Development Director.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Strategy Development Research and identify new funding opportunities, lead the efforts in tracking existing funders, and maintain comprehensive records of current and prospective grantors. Coordinate efforts across Centro's leadership team to align funding opportunities with Centro's programmatic needs, ensuring a strategic approach to grant acquisition. Develop and maintain a grant calendar to track deadlines and renewal opportunities. Own the responsibility of ensuring the grant database is accurate and up to date with key information related to all grant opportunities sought by Centro. Support implementation and shared understanding of Centro's grant process and systems through providing internal technical assistance to staff across all Centro departments. Grant Proposal Development & Submission Lead the preparation, drafting, proofreading, and submission of grant proposals, ensuring alignment with funder guidelines, Centro's mission, and Centro's programs and services. Collaborate with program staff to gather necessary input, compile data, and develop compelling narratives. Work closely with Centro's Finance team to create accurate budgets and financial reports for grant applications. Using Canva and other platforms, lead the development of supplemental marketing materials specific to grant opportunities to increase strength of applications when needed. Ensure timely and complete submission of all required documents and materials. Ensure thorough, accurate, and timely internal communication throughout the grant process. Grant Reporting & Compliance Work closely with Centro's Impact and Evaluation Manager to gather and synthesize program impact data, statistics, and narratives to prepare and submit grant reports. Maintain an organized database of past proposals, frequently used content, and reporting templates for efficiency. Data Management & Collaboration Support the development, refinement, and maintenance of tracking systems for grant metrics, funder communications, and reporting deadlines. Work closely with senior leadership to identify funding priorities and strategically allocate resources. Ensure strong external communication with funders and internal alignment across departments. Additional Responsibilities On-site presence required 4 days per week at the discretion of the supervisor. Attend mandatory in-person meetings. Contribute to broader fundraising and development initiatives as needed. Perform other duties as assigned to support Centro's mission and financial sustainability. Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, community partners, stakeholders, and other internal and external partners. Ability to track multiple projects, deadlines, commitments, and action items simultaneously and proactively follow up to keep work moving forward. Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly, professionally, and warmly with a wide range of audiences. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position is approximately 85% in an office environment and 15% in community locations for development activities. Office working conditions are standard for an office environment. Community locations may include events requiring interacting with a large number of people. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will: Engage in regular communication in person as well as through electronic means Routinely use computer laptops, tablets, desk phones, photocopiers and monitors, including digital screens Ability to sit and stand for long periods Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch and lift up to 25 pounds.
