POSITION SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
Responsible for maintaining accurate inventory levels and ensuring timely delivery of materials to support production operations. This role includes picking and issuing parts, monitoring stock levels, performing inventory adjustments, and supporting overall material flow within the facility. The Inventory Control Associate works both independently and collaboratively to ensure inventory accuracy, organization, and efficiency while upholding company safety and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Pick, stage, and deliver job orders accurately and in a timely manner to support production needs. 2. Maintain accurate inventory levels by transferring parts, performing cycle counts, and correcting discrepancies. 3. Accurately scan or manually enter parts and quantities into the MRP system for all inventory transactions. 4. Monitor stock levels and notify Purchasing when externally sourced parts require replenishment. 5. Receive and physically place purchased parts into correct inventory locations. 6. Identify and escalate issues such as discrepancies in pick lists or inventory errors to Lead or Supervisor. 7. Operate a stand-up forklift as needed to transport materials safely and efficiently. 8. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company standards. 9. Assist production teams with building or preparing stock parts as needed. 10. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and best practices. 11. Work independently from verbal and written instructions while meeting productivity expectations. 12. Support cross-training efforts and assist in other areas as assigned. 13. Perform other related duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Basic computer skills with ability to enter data into MRP systems and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory handling and documentation
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with minimal supervision
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to identify discrepancies and take appropriate corrective action
- Forklift experience preferred but not required
- Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support production needs
EDUCATIONAL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Previous inventory, warehouse, or manufacturing experience preferred but not required
- Experience with MRP systems and inventory control processes is a plus
PHYSTICAL DEMANDS
- Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects
- Frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Occasionally required to reach above shoulders, climb, or balance
- Must regularly lift and/or move 10-25 pounds
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds or more
