Purchasing & Inventory Specialist

Job Description

Purchasing & Inventory Specialist Keep Operations Moving. Own the Process. Make an Impact. We're a growing manufacturer of custom industrial equipment seeking a Purchasing & Inventory Specialist to take ownership of our purchasing and inventory functions. Because every machine we build is custom, no two days are exactly alike. You'll work closely with Engineering, Production, Sales, and Service to ensure the right materials are available at the right time while helping projects move from concept to completion. If you enjoy solving problems, building relationships, and creating order in a fast-paced environment, you'll have a direct impact on our success. What You'll Own Purchasing Operations Source and purchase parts, materials, and supplies to support production, service, and customer orders. Request and evaluate vendor quotes while balancing cost, quality, and lead time. Issue purchase orders and follow up to ensure on-time delivery. Build strong relationships with suppliers and negotiate pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory transactions. Monitor inventory levels and proactively replenish stock to prevent shortages. Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Participate in cycle counts and annual physical inventory. Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Engineering, Production, Sales, and Service to understand material needs and priorities. Communicate supplier updates, material availability, and potential delays before they impact projects. Help ensure projects stay on schedule by keeping materials flowing efficiently. Continuous Improvement Look for opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency. Help develop best practices that support a growing manufacturing operation. Who You Are You take ownership and see things through to completion. You're highly organized and don't let details slip through the cracks. You enjoy balancing multiple priorities without losing focus. You're a proactive communicator who keeps others informed. You build positive relationships with vendors and coworkers alike. You enjoy identifying problems and finding practical solutions. You take pride in accuracy and understand that small details can have a big impact. What You'll Bring Experience in purchasing, inventory control, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field. Experience working with ERP software is preferred. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel. Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills. The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. Why You'll Love Working Here Your work has a direct impact on the success of every project. You'll enjoy a wide variety of responsibilities rather than doing the same thing every day. You'll work alongside a collaborative team that values communication, accountability, and continuous improvement. You'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, improve processes, and help shape how we operate as we continue to grow. If you're looking for a role where you can take ownership, solve meaningful problems, and make a difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
