Job Description

Inventory Coordinator Position Summary Performs the necessary function and activities surrounding inventory and equipment receiving, including: ordering, receiving, stocking, distribution, records keeping, physical inventory counts, sub-inventory replenishment, inventory accountability, and filing customer and department supply orders. Minimum Qualifications Work Experience Previous institutional or fast food kitchen experience preferred. Previous experience with inventory control and ordering procedures preferred. Education High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Certifications/Licensure Valid Kentucky driver s license required. Motor vehicle record check required and will be performed annually. Job Specific Performance Standards The duties listed below are a summary of the major essential functions of this position. The position may require other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned, and specific functions may change from time to time. Inventories and maintains food and other supplies to ensure an efficient operation of Food and Nutrition Services. Stores food and supplies in correct containers and proper storage areas according to department guidelines. Stores food and supplies in a manner consistent with departmental and regulatory agency guidelines including, but not limited to label/date guidelines, first in first out (FIFO) product rotation, food safety and sanitation standards, spacing requirements between floor, ceiling, sprinklers. Maintains records and logs documenting storage temperatures of perishable food items on a daily basis. Rotates stock according to procedures as indicated by oldest product being utilized first. Assists the Executive Chef with food and supply orders based upon product specification as established by ordering protocols and procedures. Procures additional inventory items as needed to ensure efficient operation of the department and to meet the needs of our patients and customers. Secures designated areas to prevent theft and exposure to dangerous chemicals, supplies and/or equipment. Transports food and supplies in appropriate containers as appropriate to the food or supplies requirements. Follows HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point) guidelines when receiving and distributing food supplies to ensure quality of food supply. Follows departmental requirements regarding the storeroom organization. Maintains a clean, sanitary working environment. Reports needed maintenance or repairs of equipment used. Completes daily, weekly or monthly reports as outlined in the corporate policies and procedures on a timely basis meeting prescribed deadlines. Identifies and utilizes cleaning chemicals following directions recommended by manufacturers and per MSDS sheets. Operates company vehicle. Adheres to driving laws and regulations and assures safe operation of vehicle. Conducts general maintenance checks on company vehicle. Reports maintenance issues. Maintains record of maintenance checks.
