Job Description

Job Summary Carthage Water & Electric Plant is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Utility Inventory Specialist I . This position supports CWEP's electric, water, wastewater, and fiber operations by receiving, organizing, tracking, and distributing the materials, tools, and supplies our employees need to serve the community. The ideal candidate will be organized, safety-minded, comfortable using computers, and willing to learn about utility materials and equipment. Primary Responsibilities Receive and inspect incoming materials and supplies. Verify deliveries against purchase orders and packing slips. Stock, label, organize, and rotate inventory. Issue and stage materials for utility employees and projects. Enter inventory transactions into computerized systems. Assist with cycle counts and annual physical inventories. Monitor stock levels and report items that need to be reordered. Assist with quote requests and purchase order support related to inventory materials and supplies. Load, unload, pick up, and deliver materials as needed. Maintain clean, organized, and safe warehouse and storage areas. Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment after training. Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent. Strong computer, data- management, spreadsheet, and mathematical skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational ability. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. Ability to regularly lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying conditions. Willingness to obtain required forklift or equipment certifications, including Class A CDL. Previous experience in inventory, warehousing, shipping and receiving utilities, construction, or purchasing support is preferred but not required. Compensation The wage range for this position is $21.25-$22.95 per hour , depending on qualifications and experience.
