Job Description

Van-Am Tool & Engineering | St. Joseph, MO 4-Day Workweek | 10-Hour Shifts Van-Am Tool & Engineering is seeking an experienced Inventory Control Specialist to help maintain accurate inventory and ensure materials move efficiently throughout our manufacturing operation. This position offers a 4-day workweek with four 10-hour days giving you a consistent three-day weekend. Van-Am also offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with Shipping & Receiving, Production, Quality, and Purchasing to maintain material availability, inventory accuracy, and proper system transactions. This position combines computer-based inventory control with hands-on activity on the manufacturing floor. Key Responsibilities Manage material movement from receiving through work-in-process and finished goods. Maintain accurate inventory records and transactions in our ERP/MRP system; Van-Am uses Epicor. Perform cycle counts and reconcile physical inventory to system records. Investigate inventory discrepancies, identify root causes, and help implement corrective actions. Ensure materials are properly labeled, identified, stored, and located. Maintain organization and control of raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventory. Accurately process inventory transfers, adjustments, and other transactions. Maintain records supporting inventory accuracy, traceability, and
ISO/AS9100
requirements. What We Are Looking For Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and preferably 2-5 years of inventory control or material handling experience in a manufacturing environment . Experience with ERP/MRP systems is required; Epicor experience is preferred. Successful candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, comfortable using Microsoft Excel and computer systems, and able to independently investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies. Experience in metal manufacturing, aerospace, defense, ISO 9001, or AS9100 environments is a plus. This position requires frequent walking and standing throughout the facility and the ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.
