Full-Time Position Summary The Tool Room / Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining an organized, accurate, and efficient tool room, warehouse inventory, and equipment checkout system. This position ensures that employees have the tools, hardware, materials, and equipment they need to complete jobs efficiently while maintaining accountability for company assets. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and comfortable working in a fast-paced fabrication and production environment. Essential Responsibilities Tool Room Management Maintain an organized and clean tool room and equipment storage areas. Check tools and equipment in and out to employees and crews. Maintain accurate records of tool assignments and returns. Inspect returned tools for damage, missing components, or required maintenance. Identify tools and equipment that need repair or replacement. Keep commonly used tools, consumables, and equipment readily available. Establish and maintain consistent labeling and storage systems. Inventory Management Maintain accurate inventory counts of tools, hardware, fasteners, consumables, PPE, and shop supplies. Perform regular cycle counts and periodic full inventory audits. Track inventory usage and identify items that need to be reordered. Receive incoming materials and verify quantities against purchase orders or packing slips. Properly label and store incoming materials. Help maintain minimum and maximum inventory levels for commonly used items. Identify obsolete, damaged, or excess inventory. Purchasing & Reordering Create purchase requests/orders for tools, hardware, consumables, and shop supplies as needed. Work with management and vendors to obtain pricing and availability. Monitor backorders and expected delivery dates. Help identify opportunities to reduce purchasing costs through bulk ordering and vendor consolidation. Equipment & Maintenance Perform basic maintenance on hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment. Coordinate repairs for equipment that requires outside service. Maintain batteries, chargers, cords, blades, bits, abrasives, and other tool accessories. Ensure equipment is stored properly and safely. Maintain records of equipment requiring periodic inspection or service. Shop Support Assist production and fabrication crews with locating tools, materials, and hardware. Pull and stage tools and materials for upcoming jobs. Assist with preparing job boxes, tool packages, and equipment for field work. Help load and unload equipment for deliveries, events, and jobs. Assist with organizing returned equipment after completed jobs. Communicate shortages, damaged equipment, and inventory issues to management. Assist with pulling gear and assets for upcoming jobs Assist with receiving gear and assets for completed jobs Qualifications Previous experience in a tool room, warehouse, inventory, fabrication shop, construction environment, hardware store, or similar setting preferred. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Basic knowledge of hand tools, power tools, hardware, fasteners, and shop equipment. Ability to accurately count, track, and document inventory. Basic computer skills and ability to learn inventory management software. Ability to lift and move tools, equipment, and materials. Strong attention to detail. Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Good communication and customer-service skills when supporting shop personnel. Valid driver's license preferred. Preferred Skills Experience with inventory management systems. Familiarity with construction or fabrication hardware. Knowledge of cordless and pneumatic power tools. Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills. Forklift certification or experience. Experience preparing equipment for transportation or field production. Ability to identify different fasteners, hardware, tools, and consumables. Physical Requirements Regularly standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting. Ability to lift and move items weighing approximately 50 lbs. Ability to work in a warehouse/shop environment with exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate material-handling equipment. Success in This Position Looks Like Tools are easy to find and consistently returned to their proper locations. Inventory counts are accurate. Crews have the tools and materials they need when they need them. Missing and damaged tools are identified quickly. Stock-outs are minimized. The tool room remains clean, organized, and easy for others to use. Equipment is properly maintained and ready for deployment. Management has an accurate understanding of the company's tool and material inventory.

Pay:

$22.00 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 - 50.0 per week
