watershed and acequia restoration, border infrastructure, and public works construction. Our Eunice, NM yard supports field crews with equipment, materials, and logistics across an active multi-state project portfolio. Position Summary FDI is seeking a Inventory Technician for our Eunice, NM yard. This role manages yard inventory, keeps CONEX storage organized, supports procurement of parts, supplies, and equipment rentals, and handles day-to-day yard phone and logistics coordination. The position reports directly to Greg Massey, Equipment Manager, and requires the ability to safely operate a telehandler and forklift. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate, up-to-date inventory of yard equipment, tools, materials, and consumables (physical counts and spreadsheet/system records) Organize and maintain CONEX storage containers - labeling, layout, and accessibility of contents Receive, inspect, tag, and stock incoming deliveries; verify against purchase orders and packing slips Assist with procurement of parts, supplies, and materials; obtain and compare vendor quotes Help procure and coordinate equipment rentals - sourcing, scheduling, pickup/return, and tracking rental costs and return dates Operate telehandler and forklift to load, unload, and stage materials and equipment Answer and route incoming yard phone calls; communicate daily with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field crews on material and equipment needs Track equipment check-out/check-in to job sites and crews; follow up on overdue or missing items Support fleet and small-equipment maintenance scheduling; flag equipment needing repair or service Maintain basic safety and housekeeping standards in the yard and storage areas Assist with periodic physical inventory audits and reconciliation Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3+ years of experience in yard operations, warehouse/inventory management, logistics, or construction materials handling Prior procurement or purchasing experience preferred (parts, supplies, or equipment rentals) Able to safely and competently operate a telehandler and forklift Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Working knowledge of inventory tracking methods (spreadsheets, inventory software, or ERP systems) Comfortable answering phones and coordinating with field crews, vendors, and rental companies Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather conditions Reliable, self-directed, and able to manage multiple requests from field crews simultaneously
Pay:
$18.00 - $22.00 per hour
