Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory Specialist to join our team and drive excellence in inventory management and supply chain operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing warehouse distribution processes, optimizing inventory control, and ensuring seamless coordination across procurement, logistics, and warehouse functions. Your expertise will help streamline operations, improve process efficiencies, and support data-driven decision-making to enhance overall supply chain performance. Key Responsibilities Receiving & Inspection Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities and part numbers against purchase orders and packing slips, and document discrepancies Perform incoming inspection of components for damage and conformance, including verification of manufacturer part numbers and applicable ratings for UL 508A compliance Process receiving transactions accurately and promptly in the inventory system Coordinate with purchasing and project managers on shortages, overages, damaged goods, and RMAs Inventory Control Maintain accurate on-hand quantities through timely, disciplined inventory transactions (receipts, issues, transfers, adjustments) Perform scheduled cycle counts and support periodic physical inventories; investigate and resolve count variances Maintain organized, labeled storage locations with logical bin structure; enforce location discipline Monitor min/max levels for stocked hardware and consumables and flag reorder needs Support material traceability requirements, including lot/serial tracking where required by customer or quality system Kitting & Material Issue Pull and kit materials to job BOMs for panel builds, staging kits by work order in advance of production schedule dates Verify kit completeness and accuracy prior to release to mechanical and final assembly Communicate kit shortages to production and procurement with sufficient lead time to protect the build schedule Return and restock unused materials at job close with proper transactions Shipping Support Assist with packaging and crating of finished panels per company shipping SOPs, including protection of installed components and documentation packets Prepare shipping documents, packing slips, and labels; coordinate freight pickups as needed Support chain-of-custody and post-delivery documentation requirements where applicable Housekeeping & Safety Maintain a clean, safe, organized warehouse in accordance with 5S principles Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and in accordance with training and certification Follow all company safety policies and report hazards or incidents promptly Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent 2+ years of warehouse, inventory control, or stockroom experience in a manufacturing environment Proficiency with inventory/ERP software and comfort working in Excel Strong attention to detail and demonstrated accuracy in inventory transactions Ability to read packing slips, purchase orders, and bills of materials Forklift certification or ability to obtain upon hire Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and stand, walk, bend, and climb throughout the shift Preferred Experience in electrical, panel shop, or electronics manufacturing Familiarity with electrical components (terminal blocks, breakers, relays, wire/cable) and manufacturer part numbering Experience with cycle counting programs and root-cause resolution of inventory variances Experience with crating and freight shipment of large industrial equipment Physical Requirements & Work Environment Work is performed in a warehouse and light manufacturing environment. Requires frequent standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, and reaching; occasional operation of powered material handling equipment. Personal protective equipment is required in designated areas.
