Job Description

The Country Store - Farm, Pet & Home Inventory Control Specialist Burlington, WA The Country Store is the retail division of Skagit Farmers Supply, a diversified local agricultural supply cooperative. The company was founded in Burlington, WA in 1934 and includes our main business divisions: agronomy, retail, energy, wholesale distribution & milling. Our mission is to serve the community to preserve and enhance the viability of the agriculture economy. The Country Store provides quality goods and services for all "Farm-Pet-Home" needs! We operate stores in Washington state & Stevensville, MT. This position is responsible for maintaining inventory accuracy and stock rotation.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure compliance with all inventory control measures. Work with others to ensure all staff has required training and accountability in their inventory control responsibilities. Audit location inventory through physical inspection and verify accuracy through cycle count practices. Monitor all merchandise for correct location assignments, correct and clean bin labels, expired product and stock rotation. Analyze inventory variance reports and recognize security risks and thefts. Work with staff to minimize security risks and reduce inventory shrink. Maintain a safe and clean work environment. Maintain positive, open communication with management, distribution center and retail store staff. Participate in monthly staff meeting and communicate information on inventory control topics. Operate forklift truck when necessary. Build and maintain cross-functional relationships throughout the company. Exhibit an ability to receive feedback, adapt to new processes and continuously develop skills. Demonstrate the ability to collaborate, communicate well and effectively relay information with an emphasis on developing positive professional relationships. Practice punctual and reliable attendance. Perform other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent. Must pass pre-employment drug screen as a condition of employment. Lift, carry, push, pull and load up to 60 pounds. Commitment to excellence and high standards. Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office. Physical ability to stand for extended periods; bend, stoop and kneel occasionally. Professional appearance and demeanor. Proven track record of being dependable and reliable. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. Strong organizational, multi-tasking, problem-solving and analytical skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience working in a retail setting. Experience with Microsoft Excel, Epicor or similar retail point of sale software. Experience using radio frequency (RF) scanning technology and equipment. Product knowledge in one or more of the following areas: feed, seed, pet food & supplies, hardware, fencing, animal health, tack, clothing & footwear, lawn & garden or wild bird supplies.
SCHEDULE
This is a full-time, onsite position based in Burlington, WA. 40 hours per week. Sunday through Saturday (schedule may vary). Must be available to work evenings and/or weekends as needed.
WAGE & BENEFITS
$17.50 - $21.00/hour. After meeting eligibility requirements, benefits include: Medical Insurance • 100% employer-paid for employee coverage.
