Overview The Delivery Truck Helper works alongside the company driver to safely and efficiently complete daily delivery routes. The helper and driver will work as a team throughout the day to load, transport, unload, position, and assemble appliances and other items as assigned. Primary Duties Assist the driver with loading and unloading appliances and other merchandise. Safely carry, lift, move, and position heavy appliances and items at delivery locations. Work together with the driver to complete assigned delivery routes efficiently and professionally. Assist with bringing appliances and merchandise into customers' homes or designated delivery locations. Help protect customers' homes, floors, walls, doors, and property during deliveries. Assist with appliance assembly and installation-related tasks when assigned and properly trained. Follow all company procedures for handling, transporting, and assembling appliances. Use proper lifting and moving techniques to reduce the risk of injury or property damage. Maintain a clean and organized truck and work area. Assist with securing merchandise and equipment during transportation. Communicate respectfully and professionally with customers. Follow the driver's and management's directions regarding daily routes and deliveries. Arrive on time and be ready to work at the scheduled start time. Remain with the assigned driver/team throughout the workday unless otherwise authorized by management. Report damaged merchandise, property damage, delivery issues, or other concerns to the driver or management immediately. Complete all assigned deliveries and duties before ending the workday unless otherwise directed by management. Follow all safety rules and company policies. Perform other reasonable delivery, loading, unloading, and warehouse-related duties as assigned. Physical Requirements This position requires frequent physical activity, including: Lifting and carrying heavy appliances and merchandise. Standing and walking for extended periods. Bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and climbing in and out of the delivery truck. Working indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Safely assisting with team lifts and moving oversized or heavy items. Attendance & Reliability Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential. Employees are expected to arrive at the scheduled time, be prepared to work, and communicate with management as soon as possible regarding an absence, delay, or emergency. Teamwork Expectations The driver and helper are expected to work as a team. Both employees are responsible for communicating with each other, following the assigned route, assisting with deliveries, and completing the day's work safely and professionally. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Previous delivery, moving, warehouse, appliance, furniture, or general labor experience is preferred but not required. Must be physically capable of lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy items with assistance when appropriate. Must be comfortable working on your feet for extended periods. Must be able to safely bend, reach, climb in and out of a delivery truck, and maneuver large items. Must be dependable, punctual, and able to maintain consistent attendance. Must be able to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a two-person team. Must have good communication and customer-service skills. Must maintain a professional and respectful attitude when interacting with customers. Must be able to work Monday-Saturday according to the assigned schedule. Must be willing to work extended hours when routes, traffic, delivery volume, or business needs require it. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors and in varying weather conditions. Must be willing to learn proper appliance handling and assembly procedures. Must be able to pass any company-required background check or other pre-employment requirements, where applicable. Must comply with all company safety rules, policies, and procedures. A valid driver's license is preferred but not required for the helper position unless otherwise specified by management.

Pay:

$17.00 - $19.00 per hour
