Job Description

The Town of Buxton is seeking a dependable, customer-focused individual to join our team as a Part-Time Transfer Station Attendant. This position works up to 24 hours per week and must be available to work Saturdays. Under the supervision of the Transfer Station Staff, this position assists residents with the proper disposal of waste, recycling, and compost while helping maintain a safe, clean, and efficient facility. The ideal candidate is reliable, enjoys working outdoors, and provides excellent customer service. Essential Duties Assist customers with proper disposal of waste, recycling, and compost. Provide courteous and professional customer service. Monitor materials to ensure compliance with facility rules and safety procedures. Assist with general cleaning, maintenance, and groundskeeping. Help maintain the facility and surrounding grounds, including litter pickup, snow shoveling, and salting. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. Must be able to work Saturdays. Strong customer service and communication skills. Must be able to safely lift and carry up to 50 lbs throughout the workday and participate in team lifts for heavier or oversized items. Ability to work independently and safely in all weather conditions, including heat, rain, snow, and cold.
