Driver - Helper
Job Description
Join Our Team as a Driver - Helper! We are looking for dependable, safety-focused Driver - Helpers who take pride in their work and want to be part of a team that values professionalism, reliability, and commitment. What You'll Do Assist the driver with navigation and communication using company-issued mobile devices, including GPS units and smartphones. Load, unload, stock, and pick up building materials, returns, and credits at residential and commercial job sites. Safely handle materials manually or with appropriate equipment such as dollies, straps, and other material-handling tools. Assist the driver with attaching and detaching demountable driver boxes. Read, understand, and verify delivery tickets and product identification. Communicate delivery-related information to the dispatch office using company-issued technology. Assist with loading and unloading materials at Millard Lumber locations as needed. Secure and organize loads to ensure safe transportation and delivery. Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach when interacting with customers and coworkers. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. What We're Looking For Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to read maps, utilize GPS systems, and navigate delivery routes. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving abilities and a positive, can-do attitude. Ability to adapt to changing schedules and delivery priorities. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety. Ability to use hand tools, saws, nail guns, staplers, and other power tools. Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience required. Minimum one (1) year of experience in transportation, logistics, dispatch, delivery, or a related field preferred. Successfully pass a pre-employment physical examination. Schedule Morning and evening shifts as business needs require. Overtime may be required during peak business periods. Weekend work required.
