Job Description
Ridgewood Water is accepting applications for a full-time Laborer 1 position in the Treatment Division.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Position requires working a varied schedule that includes evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-in assignments as operational needs dictate.
- Will be required to learn to utilize various types of electronic and/or manual recording and information systems used by the agency, office, or related units.
- Monitor and operate the Ridgewood Water Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system during assigned shifts.
- Observe system alarms, operating conditions, and equipment status, taking appropriate action in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor water treatment facilities, storage tanks, booster stations, and distribution system operations through the SCADA system.
- Record operational data, maintain accurate logs, and prepare routine reports as required.
- Communicate operational issues, equipment malfunctions, and emergency conditions to supervisory personnel and on-call staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey only if the operation of a vehicle, rather than employee mobility, is necessary to perform essential duties of the position.
- Experience working at a water utility or in the trades preferred.
SALARY AND BENEFITS
The Village of Ridgewood is a Civil Service municipality and an Equal Opportunity Employer.- Starting salary is $57,076 as per current Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- This position is eligible for the NJ State Pension System as well as NJ State Health Benefits Program.
