Full-Time Position Overview We are seeking a dependable and physically capable Grain Elevator Laborer to assist with grain handling, truck and railcar loading/unloading, cleaning, grain testing, and general elevator operations. This is a hands-on position that requires frequent climbing, lifting, walking, and working at significant heights. Key Responsibilities Check grain elevator levels each morning and measure product height. Load and unload trucks and railcars. Climb on top of railcars when required; employees will be provided with and required to use safety harnesses. Clean and maintain grain bins and work areas by sweeping, dusting with a foxtail duster, and shoveling grain spills. Operate truck scales and assist with weighing and unloading grain. Pull grain samples using a probe and perform basic grain quality testing. Use basic tools and equipment, including air hammers, torches, spray-paint equipment, dockage testers, and hand tools. Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Perform other general labor duties as needed. Physical & Environmental Requirements Must not be afraid of heights . Grain bins can reach approximately 103 feet tall , and employees may be required to climb and work on elevated catwalks. Must be comfortable regularly climbing and walking at elevated heights. Must be able to work in confined spaces. Must be comfortable working in a dusty grain environment. Must not have allergies to grain or grain dust. Must frequently lift and move 50-100 pounds . Must be able to stand, walk, bend, climb, shovel, and perform physical labor throughout the workday. Must be aware of hazards associated with heights, slipping, machinery, and grain handling. This is a very physical position requiring daily physical activity. Work Attire Jeans T-shirt Steel-toe boots required Employees should expect to get dirty while working.
