OVERALL OBJECTIVE OF JOB
The purpose of this position is to perform general Park and Trail grounds maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF JOB 1.
Maintains eqnipment to ensure proper operation 2. General park and trail maintenance as required; grass cutting, weed trimming, tree cutting and trimming, carpentry work on buildings, pavilions, dugouts, bathroom maintenance, maintains roads, and other equipment 3. Performs general ground maintenance as required; clears grass and debris from sidewalks and other areas, pressure wash concrete pads, docks, bathrooms, and areas of importance 4. Ability to operate a variety of motor vehicles including trucks, tractors, zero turn mowers 5. Ability to operate electrical, plumbing and carpentry tools, including power tools. 6. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, divide, calculate decimals and percentages. 7. Collects trash and recyclables. 8. Paints Pavilions, and other objects as required. 9. Ability to keep track of inventory of products and tools used on site 10. Clean and maintain bathroom facilities
OTHER DUTIES OF JOB 1.
Attends meetings or inservices as required. 2. Performs other maintenance and maintenance work as needed. 3. Performs other job related duties as required.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives occasional instruction and some supervision from Supervisor regarding daily work duties.

WORKING CONDITIONS 1.
Works outdoors and indoors in open space and sometimes smaller spaces in all temperatures 2. Works with average outdoor and indoor exposure to noise, stress and disruptions. 3. Subject to periodically working different shifts or on call as required. 4. Subject to periodically working in adverse conditions depending on the nature of job assignment. 5. May be required to climb ladders, depending on nature of assignment
PHYSICAL/MENTAL CONDITIONS 1.
Must possess ability to record, convey and present information, explain procedures and follow instructions. 2. Must be able to stand and walk intermittently for long periods throughout the workday, with occasional sitting, bending, twisting, stooping, climbing, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching and grasping or driving as necessary to carry out duties of job. 3. Dexterity requirements range from simple to coordinated movements of fingers/hands; feet/legs; torso necessary to carry out duties of job. 4. Medium work, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing from 25 -50 pounds. 5. Must possess agility to move frequently throughout the work day. 6. Must have average strength and physical endurance and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. 7. Must be able to walk longer than average distances up to several miles occasionally
QUALIFICATIONS A. EDUCATION/TRAINING
High school diploma or equivalency
B. WORK EXPERIENCE 6- 12
months working experience in maintenance
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED 1.
Must be able to speak and understand the English language in an understandable manner tci carry out essential functions of job. 2. Must possess good communications and interpersonal skills. 3. Must possess ability to function independently and have flexibility and the ability to work effectively with coworkers, volunteers, veterans, their families, County and Federal agencies and the public. 4. Must possess the technical knowledge of operating computer and other office equipment as necessary. 5. Must possess knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions and the ability to exercise skill in the care and use of various tools and equipment. 6. Must possess ability to utilize County vehicles and various equipment such as a tractor, zero turn mower, hand tools, power tools, chainsaw, etc. 7. Must possess ability to follow oral and written instructions. 8. Must possess ability to travel to other Parks and County buildings as necessary. Additional Details
