Production Planner Location:
Paramount, CA Job Type:
Full-time, on-site Our client is seeking an experienced Production Planner to coordinate schedules, material readiness, and workflow across a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This position plays a critical role in keeping projects moving through the shop floor and ensuring customer delivery commitments are met. The ideal candidate has production planning or scheduling experience within a make-to-order, engineer-to-order, or low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment. Compensation
  • $80,000-$100,000 base salary
  • Benefits and paid time off
  • 401(k) eligibility after three months Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain detailed production schedules covering cutting, milling, outside processing, assembly, and final readiness
  • Coordinate with purchasing and project management to ensure materials are ordered, received, and available before production begins
  • Identify, track, and escalate material shortages or scheduling conflicts before they affect delivery timelines
  • Monitor production progress and proactively communicate risks to deadlines
  • Collaborate with procurement, operations, project management, and quality teams to keep production on schedule
  • Track performance against promised ship dates and recommend opportunities for improvement
  • Use NetSuite to manage production schedules, monitor workflow, and maintain accurate data
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies and recommend practical solutions
  • Manage multiple custom projects and changing priorities simultaneously
  • Maintain clear communication among all stakeholders throughout the production process Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in production planning, supply chain, engineering, or a related field
  • At least five years of production planning or scheduling experience
  • Experience within a low-volume, high-mix, make-to-order, or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment preferred
  • Familiarity with bills of materials, routings, and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with ERP or MRP systems; NetSuite experience preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Excel and data-analysis skills
  • Exposure to CAD drawings and customized manufacturing processes
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Just-in-Time principles
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent attention to detail and sound decision-making skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across multiple departments
  • Fenestration, windows, doors, or architectural-product manufacturing experience is a plus
