SUMMARY:
Responsible for all facets of Kuhn Transportation System. Ensures the safety of all vehicles.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
None
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
: This position requires such typical work operations and responsibilities as, but not limited to: 1. Coordinates the efficient transport of all Kuhn clients to their assigned work sites and home again in a safe, timely and comfortable manner. 2. Maintains knowledge of all client transportation needs, routes and contracts. 3. Develops and maintains efficient routing and schedules for the pickup and drop off of participants, including coordination of transportation services with other agencies. 4. Supports appropriate driver training to ensure professional safe driving habits. Conducts road tests for new drivers and provides training on proper use of wheelchair lifts. 5. Maintains active PSL License. 6. Ability to resolve and communicate daily transportation changes. 7. Conducts vehicle inspections, schedules ongoing maintenance and repair of vans. 8. Excellent organizational skills and the ability to accomplish goals in a timely manner. 9 Assures cleanliness of vehicles (inside and out) working with support personnel 10. Provides backup support for the completion and maintenance of timely records required for accountability in the area of client attendance, mileage, maintenance, expense and incident reports, delivery logs and vehicle inspections/registration.
OTHER DUTIES
1. Performs minor vehicle maintenance as necessary. 2. Works with and assists others as required. Perform additional duties at the request of management. 3. Responsible for performing work duties in a safe manner, adhering to all established safety procedures and providing input into enhancing overall company safety. 4. Attends job relevant seminars/conferences. 5. Supports program staff with community outings on an as needed basis.
REQUIREMENTS
1. High School diploma or GED with a minimum of 2 years experience. 2. Proficient in M.S. Office and Software for transportation services. 3. Valid Connecticutdriver's license with Public Service endorsement. 4. Satisfactory driving record. 5. Available means of transportation. 6. Automobile insurance in force per Kuhn's specifications when using personal vehicle for work related purposes. 7. Ability to operate vehicle accessibility equipment, wheelchair lift and tie downs. 8. Basic knowledge of vehicle routine maintenance. 9. Obtain and/or maintain CPR certification/First Aid/PMT Training. 10. Excellent written communication skills. 11. Possess basic computer skills.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to assist clients with limited mobility on and off vehicle. 2. Ability to lift materials on and off vehicles. 3. Ability to operate all Kuhn vehicles. 4. Skills necessary to operate computer, mobile radios and other business equipment.
Pay:
$21.42 per hour
