Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a diligent and detail-oriented Material Receiving and Inspector to join our manufacturing team.
Essential Job Functions Material Receiving & Inspection:
  • Oversee the receipt of incoming materials and supplies, ensuring all items meet quality and quantity standards.
  • Verify packing slips and purchase orders against shipments for accuracy.
  • Update the ERP system and the procurement lists when items are received physically daily.
  • Label and organize materials for proper storage and future retrieval.
Storage and Organization:
  • Ensure the supply room is clean, well-organized, and compliant with safety regulations.
  • Categorize and store items in designated locations to facilitate quick and accurate retrieval.
  • Manage storage systems, including shelving, bins, and labeling
  • Train team members on proper handling and storage of materials.
  • Report any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions promptly.
Order Fulfillment and Distribution :
  • Prepare and distribute materials and supplies to production teams and other departments promptly.
  • Monitor the daily usage of materials and update inventory records accordingly.
  • Coordinate with vendors and the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of critical items.
Data Entry and Reporting:
  • Use consumables management software to track and update stock levels, generate reports, and forecast inventory needs.
  • Maintain detailed records of all transactions, including materials received, issued, and returned.
  • Analyze and update procurement lists with necessary information.
Vendor Coordination:
  • Collaborate with the procurement team to reorder materials and supplies as needed.
  • Communicate with vendors to resolve issues related to delayed or defective shipments
  • Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on procurement activities, supplier performance, and strategic sourcing initiatives.
Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with production, maintenance, and quality assurance teams to anticipate and meet their material needs.
  • Act as a liaison between departments to ensure smooth supply chain operations.
Education, Experience & SkillsEducation:
  • High School Degree or equivalent
  • In some cases, an associate degree or relevant certifications can be sufficient, especially with strong experience in purchasing or supply chain roles.
Experience:
  • 2-5 years of experience in inventory management, warehousing, or a similar role in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on consumables or similar industries.
Skills:
    Communication Skills :
    Good written and verbal communication skills to coordinate with suppliers, internal teams, and management.
      Time Management :
      Efficiently managing time and meeting procurement deadlines, especially for urgent consumable items.
      • Attention to
      Detail :
      Ensuring accuracy in purchase orders, supplier agreements, and stock management.
        Problem-solving :
        Ability to resolve supply chain issues quickly, especially in cases of urgent consumables needs.
          Technological Skills :
          Proficiency in, spreadsheets, and databases to manage receiving tasks efficiently.
          Physical Requirements Mobility:
          • Ability to move freely throughout the manufacturing plant and office areas, including walking, standing, climbing stairs, and moving on uneven surfaces.
          • Frequent walking and standing for extended periods.
          • Sitting for prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, especially when working on procurement systems, reviewing orders, or handling paperwork.
          • Frequent use of a computer keyboard, mouse, and other office equipment for data entry, order processing, and communication.
          • Repeated use of a telephone for communication with vendors and internal stakeholders.
          Lifting and Carrying:
          • Ability to lift and carry objects up to 50 pounds occasionally.
          • Occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of materials and equipment as required.
          Vision and Hearing:
          • Visual acuity to read documents, computer screens, and equipment displays.
          • Hearing ability to perceive alarms, warnings, and other auditory signals in a noisy environment.
          Manual Dexterity:
          • May require using hand tools or barcode scanners for inventory management.
          Communication:
          • Clear and effective verbal communication skills to interact with team members, management, and external partners.
          • Ability to hear and respond to safety instructions and emergency communications.
          Cognitive and Mental Requirements:
          • Ability to concentrate, analyze information, and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
          • Strong problem-solving skills and the capacity to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
          Environmental Conditions:
          • Exposure to various weather conditions when moving between plant buildings or conducting outdoor tasks.
          • Work in environments with varying temperatures, humidity, and noise levels typical of a manufacturing facility.
          • Potential exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals requires personal protective equipment (PPE).
          Safety:
          • Adherence to all safety protocols and procedures.
          • Regular participation in safety training and emergency response drills.
          • Wearing required PPE, such as safety glasses, gloves, hard hats, and steel-toed boots, as necessary.
          Pay:
          $17.00 - $19.00 per hour
