Job Description

The Global Logistics Specialist will serve as the primary administrator for freight payment and financial compliance within the global transportation network. This role focuses on the fiscal lifecycle of cargo movement, requiring a deep understanding of both international freight-forwarding and domestic trucking processes to ensure billing accuracy. The successful candidate will leverage strong mathematical and analytical skills to develop tracking reports and drive continuous process improvements within the transportation administration department. Freight Audit & Financial Validation:
Lead the audit of ocean import, drayage, and intermodal invoices to ensure alignment with contracted rates and service levels
Process Improvement:
Identify and implement enhancements to freight payment workflows, aiming to streamline administrative cycles and improve data accuracy
Analytical Reporting Development:
Design and maintain advanced tracking reports to monitor logistics spend, accessorial trends, and carrier billing performance
Demurrage & Detention Oversight:
Audit and validate charges for demurrage, detention, and chassis usage to ensure the company operates in a cost-efficient environment
Vendor Financial Liaison:
Act as the administrative point of contact for resolving complex billing discrepancies between vendors, carriers, and internal merchandising or DC teams What you'll bring to the table...
Advanced Mathematics & Analytics:
Possess an excellent mathematical background with a focus on developing data-driven reporting and financial reconciliations
Communication:
Ability to clearly communicate financial requirements and process changes both verbally and in writing to international and domestic partners
Process Mastery:
Must possess a strong understanding of both international freight forwarding and domestic trucking/FTL processes to accurately interpret service billing
Self-Directed Initiative:
Must be self-motivated and assertive in identifying areas for process improvement and independently executing administrative goals
Organizational Urgency:
Ability to multi-task and organize a high volume of financial documentation based on operational priorities and peak season demands We'd love to hear from you if you have… 3+ years of experience in the freight forwarding industry, specifically involving ocean import financial documentation preferred A solid understanding of transload, cross-dock, and outbound trucking processes is required to facilitate accurate auditing Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google platforms for the creation of complex tracking tools
