EMS Logistics Technician

Job Description

Brunswick County is currently accepting applications for a Logistics Technician to join our Emergency Medical Services (EMS) team. At Brunswick County, our EMS Department is committed to providing highly responsive, effective, and efficient emergency and non-emergency care to citizens and visitors across Brunswick County and surrounding areas. The Logistics Technician plays a crucial role in helping to ensure the smooth operation of the EMS system by maintaining, stocking, distributing, and tracking medical supplies, equipment, and vehicles to ensure operational readiness of EMS units.
Responsibilities include:
Inventory management Documentation Asset control Coordinating fleet maintenance Collaboration with vendors and field staff Compliance with applicable regulatory standards Work includes: processing, delivering, and stocking supply orders at EMS stations across the County; operating, driving, loading, and unloading forklifts, equipment trailers, and delivery vehicles; warehouse stocking; and maintaining a neat and clean environment. The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of emergency medical service operations (including equipment and supplies), be familiar with inventory management principles (i.e., stock rotation and tracking), and strong time management skills to be able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced EMS environment. The Logistics Technician is considered an
ESSENTIAL EMPLOYEE POSITION
under County policy and will be required to work to maintain essential operations during inclement weather, non-emergency closure, and/or closure due to a stat of emergency/county disaster. This position requires attention to detail, independent decision-making within established procedures, and strong communication with EMS crews, supervisors, and vendors. The Logistics Technician reports to the EMS Procurement/Logistics Supervisor.

High school diploma (or equivalent) AND one (1) year of experience with maintaining inventory control and/or emergency services field experience, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the essential functions of the position. Valid NC or SC driver license is required. NC EMT-Basic certification, or the ability to obtain within the probationary period is required. Ability to obtain Brunswick County Forklift Certification within the probationary period. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products and have general knowledge/understanding/experience with inventory tracking software. Physical Requirements Must be physically able to operate a variety of machinery and equipment including suction units, immobiliza­tion equipment, intravenous infusions, syringes and medications, and cardiac monitors/defibrillators/pacers, two-way radios, mechanics tools, etc. Must be able to exert up to 150 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 75 pounds of force frequently, and/or 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical demand requirements are for Very Heavy Work.
