Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Gate Clerk to join our logistics and warehouse operations team. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring smooth and efficient access control at the facility's gate. Your responsibilities will include verifying shipments, managing documentation, and coordinating with warehouse staff to facilitate seamless shipping, receiving, and inventory management processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic supply chain environment where precision and customer service excellence are paramount. Responsibilities Authorize entry and exit of employees, carriers, visitors, and contractors while maintaining strict security protocols Verify shipment details using warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or inventory management software Process inbound and outbound shipments accurately through data entry and scanning with RF scanners or barcode readers Assist with shipping logistics, including load & unload activities, order picking, packing, and order fulfillment tasks Maintain detailed records of all transactions, logs, and incident reports related to gate activities Support warehouse operations by coordinating with distribution teams for stock movement, inventory management, and order processing Ensure compliance with trade regulations and international trade standards during shipping & receiving procedures Requirements Proven experience in warehouse operations or logistics environments with familiarity in warehouse distribution processes Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems such as AS400 or MRPs Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, trade compliance, international trade regulations, and order fulfillment procedures Ability to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, reach trucks, forklift trucks (certification preferred), and order pickers safely Excellent data entry skills combined with basic math proficiency for accurate documentation and inventory tracking Exceptional customer service skills to communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal teams Ability to stand for extended periods while performing physical tasks like load & unload activities or yard inspections Join us as a Gate Clerk and become an essential part of our fast-paced logistics team!
