The Transportation Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring the transportation fleet is compliant with State and Federal regulatory agencies. This position is critical in maintaining accurate and up to date compliance logs while providing accessible information to our Health & Safety and Transportation teams. As part of the EHS team this position will be expected to promote all aspects of the Suit-Kote safety culture.
Safety Expectations:
All Suit-Kote employees are required to comply with all safety rules and to observe safe work practices and operating procedures at all times. Whenever on Suit-Kote property or job sites, or operating Suit- Kote equipment, employees are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that promotes the safety of the employee, co-workers and others.
Responsibilities/Job Duties:
Assist the EHS Director and Safety team in all aspects of Environment, Health, and Safety duties. Be a team player in the development of the Suit-Kote Safety culture.
US/NY DOT/FMCSA
Compliance:
Review logs/audit for HOS, Form & Manner HOS Compliance Keep Driver/Dispatcher Maintenance up to date (addition/deletion of drivers and dispatchers and required data to meet FMCSA regulations) Assist Driver/Dispatcher with tablet issues Training and retraining of drivers/dispatchers on HOS and ELD use. Creating/distributing driver manuals for tablets Monitor and send out the Unidentified trips report weekly to reduce or eliminate the unidentified miles per FMCSA regulations
Maintain Transportation Supplies:
DQ Files:
maintain accurate and complete DQ files on all CMV drivers Collect annual D/L, COV, MVR, Med Cards, D/A testing Review NY LENS notification reports New employees: obtain completed drivers app, road test, med card, D/L, MVR, PSP, employment verifications, pre-employment D/A Coordinate DOT physicals required both during safety training and throughout the year DVIR- receive all roadside inspections Process roadside bonus' for inspections with no violations Forward inspections with violations once the corrections have been made to the appropriate state agency Create DataQ cases for incorrect violations to have them removed from SK DOT number Create Transportation Bulletins Collect the annual motor vehicle checklist
Geotab:
Work with Managers/Divisions on placement of trackers on trailers and equipment Train others on the use of Geotab System If the unit is malfunctioning work to resolve the malfunction or get a new unit under warranty In-Cab Event recorders: Review incidents/accidents for driver behavior improvement, assist EHS Director with accident investigation and re-creation. DERA Compliance Vehicle/Equipment reports Administer CDL training program for drivers Register and Maintain program self-certification with NYS for SK and the trainers Assist trainers with creating curriculum and evaluation metrics Maintain course completion and transmittal of data to drivers' home state with the required timeline for driver to be eligible for the road test Attend Trade and regulatory meetings/events as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Must be at least 18 years old Reliable transportation to and from work site Strong communication skills A sound understanding of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Willingness to learn Proficiency in internet and email use (accurate keyboard skills) Thorough understanding of FMCSA regulations
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds Observe and comply with necessary PPE requirements Must be able to work in a noisy area with many odors present Bending, stretching, stooping, kneeling, crawling and squatting Ability to sit in an office space for extended periods of time Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening is required and a background check will be conducted
Other Preferred Qualities:
1-3 years experience in related field High school diploma or GED - a two year technical degree

Pay Range:
$65,000 - $75,000
