Asset Lifecycle Specialist

Job Description

Milestone Technologies seeks an Asset Lifecycle Specialist to work closely with the Technical Lead and Data Center Manager to establish inventory levels. The Specialist is responsible for receiving, tracking, and storing technical equipment shipped into Data Centers. This role also involves managing inventory discrepancies, conducting audits, and utilizing ServiceNow to track assets. The Asset Lifecycle Specialist will work in a fast-paced environment alongside data center technicians and must be organized and comfortable working independently in storage rooms. How You Will Make a
Difference:
  • RMA management for outgoing and incoming assets in the database repository.
  • Collaborate with hardware vendors and Asset Supply Management/engineering teams on order details and technical hardware configurations.
  • Maintaining required levels of personal protective equipment (PPE), components, and emergency spares inventory.
  • Provide regular updates on gaps, issues, and trends related to asset management.
  • Perform audits of storage rooms to ensure accurate inventory and reporting.
  • Keep current knowledge of hardware, optics, shipping, and receiving.
  • Document and update workflow related to storage rooms.
  • Review open tasks and provide timely updates.
What You Will Need to
Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, IT, or a related discipline
  • A minimum of three years of experience in a related IT or Procurement coordinator role
  • At minumum of three years of experience tracking and storing inventory in a Data Center environment
  • Experience with IT Asset Control
  • A minimum of three years of participation in audit activities
  • Experience using an ITSM tool, with ServiceNow preferred
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Extremely detail-oriented and well-organized
  • Self-starter who can work with ambiguity
  • Superior problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams
  • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects efficiently
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven problem-solving skills to improve efficiency and overcome inventory challenges
  • Certifications in technology-specific areas, networking, or management.
Essential Physical Requirements for
Data Center Role:
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. Regularly work in confined spaces, under raised floors, or inside server racks. Push, pull, or move heavy server racks as required. Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, crouching, and kneeling. Ability to climb ladders and work at heights as needed. Dexterity to handle small components, wiring, and tools with precision. Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including heat and cold, especially in data halls, mechanical rooms, and other areas that may not be temperature-controlled. Ability to wear required safety gear, including anti-static wrist straps, gloves, protective eyewear, appropriate shoes, and hearing protection. Capability to respond to emergencies quickly, including after-hours or on-call shifts as required. #LI-LC1
