POSITION
Demand Planning Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
As a Demand Planning Analyst, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining accurate demand forecasts, aligning purchasing and distribution plans with business goals, and driving continuous improvement in inventory performance. This role is critical in ensuring product availability, optimizing turnover, minimizing waste, and meeting both customer and internal expectations in a highly dynamic and growth environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Forecasting & Analysis Develop and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical data, statistical models, project planning, and business development input. Analyze variances between forecasts and actual sales to improve future forecasting accuracy. Monitor seasonal patterns, promotions, internal logistic constraints, and external factors that could affect demand. Data Management & Reporting Maintain and update forecasting tools and systems. Generate and distribute regular demand planning reports, including KPIs like forecast accuracy, inventory turns, and service levels. Provide insightful analysis and data visualizations to support business decisions. Collaboration & Communication Work closely with business development and operations to gather input and align forecasts with business plans. Participate in and lead inter-departmental inventory planning meetings. Communicate supply and demand risks proactively and assist in resolution planning. Inventory & Supply Coordination Assist in inventory optimization by identifying and validating inventory discrepancies. Work with logistics and business development teams to manage constraints, surpluses, and fulfillment strategies.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Excel and demand planning software/tools. Understanding of supply chain and inventory principles. Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate clearly in a fast-paced growth environment. Attention to detail and ability to manage large data sets.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field. Prior experience in demand planning or inventory management, preferably in distribution or logistics settings.
