The Materials Quote Analyst supports customer quoting and manufacturing planning activities through material cost analysis, bill of material (BOM) review, component sourcing support, and supply chain data analysis within an electronics manufacturing environment. This role assists with evaluating material requirements, supplier pricing, lead times, and component availability to support accurate and competitive manufacturing quotes for printed circuit card assembly and related products. The Materials Quote Specialist works closely with supply chain, quoting, engineering, configuration management, and operations teams to support timely and accurate material estimating activities while developing foundational knowledge of electronics components, sourcing practices, and manufacturing supply chain processes.
Responsibilities:
  • Support material estimating activities related to customer RFQs, manufacturing quotes, and operational planning initiatives.
  • Review bills of material (BOMs), approved vendor lists (AVLs), engineering drawings, statements of work, testing requirements, and customer documentation packages to identify material requirements and sourcing needs.
  • Assist with gathering supplier pricing, lead time information, and component availability data from approved vendors and sourcing systems.
  • Support analysis of electronic components, hardware, consumables, and manufacturing materials related to PCB assembly and electromechanical manufacturing.
  • Support supplier quotation activities including requests for pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and sourcing information from approved suppliers.
  • Maintain material costing spreadsheets, quote support documentation, and sourcing analysis records.
  • Coordinate with supply chain, configuration engineering, manufacturing cost engineering, and operations teams to support quote accuracy and material planning activities.
  • Assist with identification of alternate components, sourcing risks, and material availability concerns impacting quoting activities.
  • Support maintenance of supplier pricing databases, commodity information, material estimating tools, and sourcing information systems.
  • Monitor supplier responses and assist with follow-up activities related to pricing requests and sourcing inquiries.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to material estimating accuracy, sourcing processes, and quote support workflows.
  • Assist with analysis of material cost variances, quote-to-actual comparisons, and supply chain trends as assigned.
  • Assist with preparation of material cost summaries, sourcing reports, and quote support documentation for internal stakeholders
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:
Citizenship Requirement- ITAR Regulations require all candidates be a US Citizen, US Permanent Resident, Political Asylee, or Refugee. We can not sponsor Visas. Required Qualifications
  • Education- High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic understanding of bills of material (BOMs), manufacturing documentation, and supply chain processes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and mathematical skills.
  • Ability to interpret BOMs, component descriptions, manufacturer information, and sourcing documentation.
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and quoting deadlines within a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams including supply chain, engineering, quoting, and operations personnel.
  • Ability to learn electronics component terminology, sourcing practices, and material estimating methodologies.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to follow written instructions.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel domestically 5-10% annually to visit with internal customers (ie: Sales or Program Management) required. Preferred Qualifications
  • Education- Bachelor's degree or Associate's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 1 year of supply chain, purchasing, estimating, manufacturing support, or related analytical experience preferred. Internship experience will be considered.
  • Experience supporting material estimating, purchasing, or sourcing activities within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience within electronics manufacturing, PCB assembly, or contract manufacturing environments preferred
  • Basic knowledge of electronic components, PCB assemblies, or manufacturing materials.
  • Experience utilizing ERP systems, sourcing platforms, or supply chain databases.
  • Experience supporting supplier communications or sourcing analysis activities.
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies preferred. Key Metrics and Focus Areas
  • Accuracy and completeness of material cost estimates and sourcing analysis.
  • Timeliness and responsiveness supporting customer RFQs and quoting activities.
  • Accuracy of BOM review, supplier pricing, and sourcing documentation.
  • Effectiveness of cross-functional collaboration supporting quoting and material planning activities.
  • Responsiveness to supply chain and operational support requirements.
  • Participation in material estimating process improvement initiatives.
  • Quality and organization of material estimating documentation and records.
  • Support of quote-to-actual material analysis and sourcing trend evaluation activities. Physical Requirements / Essential Functions
  • Ability to remain seated and work at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 15 pounds.
  • Frequent use of computers, calculators, phones, and other office equipment.
