What You'll Be Doing:
The purpose of the Quotes Coordinator position is to: 1) Forecast raw materials cost for simple to complex assemblies including supplier selection 2) Focus on material costs and process routings 3) Prepare the bill of material data in accordance with customer specification. 4) Negotiate with suppliers for best price, minimum buy quantities and lead times in order to calculate the material cost for proposals. 5) Complete, record and maintain bid request matrix. 6)Follow company policy and procedure to ensure a safe, respectful workplace.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Analyze blueprints, specifications, technical data, proposals to create final proposal packet. Prepare bill of material using customer provided parts lists and specifications. Determines raw material requirements by thorough review of data. Develops requests for proposals to vendors for raw materials. Analyze customer statement of work to determine best course of action for sub-assemblies, fabricated materials and out-serves. Collects and analyzes information to resolve component discrepancies. Utilize the ERP system as required for stock levels and historic analysis in developing material availability and cost. Leverages purchasing department to obtain best supplier results when necessary. Collaborates with Program Management, Manufacturing, Engineering and Quality to determine decisions, strategies and customers' needs. Analyzes and determines best supplier selection based on variable criteria. Research various types of equipment availability, tooling and/or miscellaneous costs for consideration and inclusion into final bid. Manage shifting priorities and stringent deadlines to meet client deadlines. Negotiate with suppliers for best price, best lead times and/ or breaks up minimum buys as required. Collaborate with Program Management to secure customer approved parts list for no-bid/obsolete situations. Oversee documentation export in accordance with
ITAR/EAR
regulations. Other duties as assigned.
Education:
Degree in Supply Chain, Mechanical Engineering or other technical field is preferred, but not required. High school diploma or GED required.
Skills/Qualifications/Experience:
2 - 4 years of experience in Purchasing and/or Quoting or related field is preferred. Customer Service experience preferred. Must have professional presence and initiative. Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite with advanced skill level in Excel. Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interact effectively with peers, management and cross-functional areas with both technical and non-technical people.
Work Environment:
Standard office environment. Employees are required to wear safety equipment consisting of: closed-toed shoes, safety glasses, heel straps, wrist straps, and electro-static discharge lab coats while on the production floor and are occasionally exposed to fumes, airborne particles, toxic/caustic chemicals, and minimal risk of electrical shock.
