Job Description

Location:
1445 Federal Drive, Montgomery, AL 36109 (AL Department of Agriculture and Industries), Some travel is required
Salary Range:
$75,000 to $95,000 (Commensurate with Experience)

Salaried Full Time based on 40-hour workweek, flexible as needed

Primary Duties:
Ensure IRS non-profit compliance for the AARCDC. Develop and maintain annual budget for the organization. Review and monitor financial performance, reports, and statements Provide non-profit training and guidance to executive directors, staff, and board members. Draft needed board policies and office directives. Assist RC&D board and staff leadership across the state to manage complex issues. Conduct annual operational reviews for all councils. Represent AARCDC at RC&D council annual membership meetings and other events as needed. Consult and review governmental issues and community development grants with the AARCDC Program Developer. Provide ongoing supervision and guidance for all AARCDC operations and staff. Inform and consult with the AARCD Chair. Represent AARCD at SWCD, AACD, ACCA and other affiliates' meetings and functions as appropriate. Develop strategic partnerships with traditional and nontraditional organizations. Develop and support working relationships with each AARCDC Board Member. Develop and support working relationship with each of the nine RC&D Executive Directors. Develop and support working relationships with business professionals working with AARCDC. Develop AARCDC board meeting agendas with AARCDC staff and AARCDC board chair. Provide oversight and planning of annual conference, staff retreat, training, and other events. Attend board meetings of the 9 RC&Ds as needed. Other duties as directed per the chair/ executive board.
Qualifications:
Working knowledge of nonprofit organizations, quasi-governmental organizations, and/or public sector operations 5-10 years of operations management or related experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint Financial operations competency to include the ability to develop and manage the organization's annual budget, review financial statements, monitor financial performance, and understand financial reports Excellent organizational and time management skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion Flexible and responsive to the needs of the team and organization Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines Professional demeanor and positive attitude Experience coordinating meetings, events, conferences, or training programs preferred Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally for meetings and conferences
