Our mission:
To present opera performances of the highest quality available to the widest possible audiences in the South Bend metropolitan area To perpetuate and enrich the operatic art form To be creative and innovative in all aspects of opera To take a leadership role in training, arts education and audience development We create high‑quality, community‑focused productions and are growing. We seek a hands‑on Executive Director to lead administration, fundraising, marketing, and production logistics. The Executive Director reports to the Board President and will work closely with the Artistic Director. This 20 hour/week part‑time position (salary $25,000 - $30,000/year) oversees day‑to-day administration, budgeting, fundraising, donor cultivation, marketing/ticketing, and production coordination. This is a small‑team role; the Executive Director must be comfortable wearing many hats and engaging with donors, volunteers, artists, and community partners. Implement strategic goals in collaboration with the Board and Artistic Director.
Manage fundraising:
Grant writing, individual giving, sponsorships, and events. Collaborate to develop and manage annual income, expense, and production budgets. Cultivate and steward donors, patrons, and community partners. Coordinate fundraising campaigns and special events. Oversee marketing, communications, website maintenance, and ticket sales. Support artist contracts and production logistics at the direction of the Artistic Director. Provide monthly activity reports to the Board President. Represent the organization in the local arts community. Perform other duties as requested by the President. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in arts administration, nonprofit management, business, or related field. Experience in nonprofit or performing arts administration preferred. Demonstrated experience fundraising, working within a budget, and performing general administrative duties. Strong organizational, communication, and relationship‑building skills. Ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a small‑team environment. Interest in or familiarity with opera/performing arts preferred. Must live in the South Bend area and be available for some evenings/weekends for rehearsals, performances, and events. Please submit a resume and brief cover letter to: .
