Job Description

The Opportunity Our current Executive Director has been with the organization for almost thirty (30) years, and with a planned retirement we are seeking a strategic, mission-driven Executive Director with substantial executive and financial knowledge to lead our non-profit organization into its next chapter. Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director will oversee the business, fundraising, financial, and operational health of the organization while supporting a dedicated team of both paid and volunteer clinical professionals.
Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership:
Assist the Board with development of strategic plans that will ensure continued excellence in patient care and secure long-term financial self-sufficiency.
Financial Stewardship:
Manage non-profit budgets, optimize billing and payroll, and aggressively pursue state/federal grant funding, donor contributions, and capital acquisition.
Board Governance:
Partner with the Board of Directors to ensure strict compliance with non-profit governance standards, corporate bylaws, and fiduciary duties.
Regulatory Compliance:
Maintain strict adherence to Pennsylvania Department of Health (PADOH) regulations and local medical command protocols.
Community & Stakeholder Relations:
Act as the public face of the agency, building strong partnerships with Centre Region municipal leaders, regional EMS councils, local hospitals and other medical facilities.
Personnel & Operations:
Provide leadership, mentorship, and administrative oversight to clinical staff (paid and volunteer) and management teams.
Qualifications & Requirements Education:
Bachelor's degree in Nonprofit Management, Healthcare Administration, Emergency Medical Services, Business, or Public Administration required (Master's degree or similar certifications preferred).
Certification:
Current PA Paramedic or PHRN certification
Experience:
Proven executive leadership experience within emergency medical services, public safety, healthcare administration, or non-profit leadership.
Clinical Knowledge:
Comprehensive understanding of EMS operations. While active clinical shifts are not required , the ability or credentialing to handle clinical shifts if needed is a distinct advantage.
Regulatory Expertise:
Familiarity with
PADOH EMS
regulations, reimbursement requirements, municipal funding models, labor laws, and non-profit tax compliance.
Core Skills:
Exceptional financial acumen, business management experience, grant writing and fundraising skills, and public speaking abilities. Clean Pennsylvania Driver's License required.
Pay:
$95,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
