The Shepherd's Table Director Job Description The Board of Directors of the Shepherd's Table (TST) in Conway, South Carolina is looking to immediately fill the position of Director.
OBJECTIVE
The mission of the Shepherd's Table is to provide meals and food to the less fortunate members of the community.
DESCRIPTION
Manage the operations of a non-profit Community Kitchen and Food Pantry
REPORTS TO
The Board of Directors of TDT monthly during scheduled Board Meetings verbally and via a monthly report. When necessary, the Director will seek immediate supervision from the Board Chair.
JOB RESPONISIBILITIES
The duties of the Director of TST include, but are not limited to, the following:
Works closely with the Board of Directors to fulfill the mission of the organization. Answers Board questions promptly and provides all the information requested by the Board of Directors.
Ensures that all substantial decisions relative to programming, recruitment, soliciting and media coverage are discussed and approved to the Board of Directors prior to any engagement. Ensures that all requests from the media are discussed with the Board Chair and are included in the monthly report to the Board of Directors
Be responsible for updating and maintaining all social media and website activity.
Represents TST to the public in a professional and appropriate manner.
Be the face of the organization and maintain a positive influence and good report withing the community, government officials, local police, and churches
Is responsible for the day-to-day oversite, management and supervision of staff, interns, volunteers, community service workers, guest and programs at TST. Conducts semi-annual evaluations on all paid staff members and submits them to the board annually.
Ensures all programs are approved by the by the Board of Directors and adhere to the associated policies and procedures.
Works with the Steering Committee for the benefit of TST
Ensures that all guests are treated with respect and never asked to assume any responsibilities associated with fulfilling the mission of TST
Meets with various groups and organizations to solicit support and promote the mission of TST
Maintains reports and documentation associated with the mission of TST, including but not limited to, meals served at the soup kitchen, families and individuals utilizing the Fresh Express and Food Pantry, lists of donors, volunteers, inventory, etc. This is to be included in the monthly report presented to the Board of Directors.
Tracks and submits all invoices to the Bookkeeper and Treasurer broken down by program as well as detailed information associated with each.
Works with the Board of Directors on strategic planning in regard to direction, programs and fundraising to the Board of Directors.
Responsible for seeking out and writing grants for the benefit of TST
Responsible for soliciting donations from individuals and organizations for the benefit of TST, as well as, working with the Board of Directors on all fundraising endeavors.
Network with agencies to make appropriate referrals for the benefit of our guest
Manage the facility, equipment, and company vehicles ensuring they are all in working order and proper upkeep is followed. Report any maintenance or issues immediately to the Board Chair
Maintain a positive attitude and influence during work hours and after with staff, volunteers, guests and social media.
Manage and find innovative ways to teach interns from CCU and HGTC as well as developing core values and leadership skills within our staff and interns.
Maintain and input information into tracking systems such as Charity Tracker, Link2Feed, Meal Connect and Unite Us.
Maintain compliance with USDA, DHEC, ServSafe, and Low County Food Bank.
Ensures the kitchen is maintained in compliance with all associated regulatory groups, guidelines and associated policies.
Ensures that there is a daily nutritious menu, appropriate ingredients on hand to prepare the meals and determine the number of guests to be served.
Be ServSafe certified
Job Qualifications:
Highly motivated with the desire to help those in need in the community
Previous experience in the Food/Restaurant industry
Exceptional leadership and customer service skills
Experience in budget management, record keeping and fundraising
Familiarity with most spread sheet and word processing programs
Ability to navigate and provide social media information
Excellent communication and public speaking skills
Ability to organize and manage others including a rotating staff of volunteers
Ability to work with a Board of Directors
Previous non-profit experience is a plus The position is for a Full Director.
