Job Description

Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Senior Manager is responsible for assisting operations in developing process awareness, creating a culture of continuous improvement, and finding process solutions that are more resilient, customer-centric, and streamlined. This role is responsible for overseeing all phases of improvement efforts, including process discovery, definition, design, simulation, implementation, and monitoring. Additionally, the manager ensures that all improvement efforts are conducted in a disciplined and structured manner and align with the strategic objectives of both nGroup and the client. The overall role of the Continuous Improvement Manager is to facilitate and manage all process improvement initiatives, ensuring that all proposed changes to the operation align with the expectations of both the client and nGroup. This role is an exempt, salaried position, as defined by the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Due to the required strategic collaboration with other people (supervisory) and non-people management roles and/or while working directly with clients, the daily success of this role depends on consistently meeting and/or surpassing key performance indicators (KPIs), and various service level agreements (SLAs). To achieve what is expected of the role, it is a requirement of the position to cover full shifts, including work time outside of its regular scheduled hours, which includes weekends and holidays. May 2026 and scope-compliant delivery of goals. 2. Thoroughly identifying potential issues that could arise in the future and taking proactive steps to address them. 3. Assessing current processes and implementing new ones to minimize expenses, enhance sustainability, and establish optimal practices within the organization. 4. Identifying novel metrics for measuring efficiency and partnering with training coaches to develop effective training programs that enable new hires to reach peak efficiency swiftly. 5. Analyzing data to identify trends and providing recommendations for improvements and solutions. 6. Effectively and consistently communicating updates to stakeholders using appropriate channels, such as group or one-on-one meetings, emails, or face-to-face interactions. 7. Conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA), offering suggestions, and supporting the implementation of effective measures to improve operations. 8. Employing mapping, modeling, and video resources to enhance business processes and capabilities. 9. Creating comprehensive process documentation (Standard Operating Procedures, Operational Procedures Manual, Work Instructions, Training Records) and templates. 10. Generating reports and action plans based on Lean principles including Visual Management, Work Cells, Kaizen, Kanban, 5S, Value Stream Maps, Fishbone Diagrams, SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies), One Point Lessons, and SIPOC (Supplier, Input, Process, Output, Customer) to optimize productivity, improve process efficiency, and reduce costs.
Skills and Qualifications:
1. A bachelor's degree in industrial engineering or business administration and a minimum of ten (10) years of relevant business experience are necessary for this position. 2. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, as well as strong problem-solving and analytical abilities are required. 3. Candidates should have received training in Lean manufacturing principles and have experience in Kaizen facilitation. 4. Demonstrated leadership skills and previous experience in a unionized environment are preferred. The ability to quickly adapt to new concepts and overcome obstacles with change is essential. 5. The candidate should be able to collaborate effectively with others in a challenging environment and be willing to work shifts as needed. 6. Possession of a Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is required. 7. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Words, Excel, and Project is expected. 8. Training in Visio, SmartDraw and/or AutoCAD is preferred. 9. This job may require occasional travel, up to 50% of the time, based on business needs.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the associate is required to focus on Inventory task, socialize findings (verbally/visually) resolve discrepancies and post accuracy goals on the warehouse floor. Sit or stand for extended periods of time. The associate is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. Associates in this position frequently operate a computer, read, and write, and interact with others in person, over the phone, and via other devices. They move about within the office to access file cabinets, documents, office machinery, and other equipment. They may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time. Occasionally move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
