Job Summary The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This hands-on leadership role manages shop personnel, production scheduling, workflow, inventory coordination, quality control, and continuous process improvement. Shop Responsibilities Supervise and lead shop employees across fabrication, machining, assembly, wiring, and testing. Assign daily work based on production priorities and employee skill sets. Train, mentor, and develop shop personnel. Foster a positive, accountable, and safety-focused work environment. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching. Production Management Plan and coordinate daily, weekly, monthly production schedules to meet customer delivery deadlines. Monitor workflow and adjust labor resources to maximize efficiency. Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions. Ensure projects remain on schedule and within labor budgets. Coordinate with engineering, purchasing, and management to resolve production issues. Quality Control Ensure all products meet company quality standards before shipment. Enforce manufacturing procedures and best practices. Perform final inspections and verify workmanship. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce rework and increase efficiency. Operations and Inventory Monitor inventory levels of materials and consumables. Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials. Maintain organized work areas using lean manufacturing principles. Ensure equipment, tools, and machinery are properly maintained. Safety and Compliance Promote and enforce OSHA and company safety standards. Conduct regular safety meetings and inspections. Ensure employees are using proper PPE and following safe work practices. Investigate and document workplace incidents when necessary. Qualification Requirements 5+ years of manufacturing leadership or shop supervision experience. Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of industrial machinery. Experience managing production schedules and shop workflow. Ability to read engineering drawings and fabrication prints. Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong communication and leadership abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic manufacturing software. Preferred Qualifications Experience in custom machinery or equipment manufacturing. Welding, fabrication, machining, or electrical assembly background. Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience. Forklift certification (or willingness to obtain). Pay:

$80,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
