RMD Luxury Window Treatments

Operations Manager

Job Description

RMD Luxury Window Treatments is a custom window treatment, soft furnishings, and installation company serving interior designers and residential clients throughout the DMV. We are known for craftsmanship, white-glove service, and installation quality that our design partners trust with their most important projects. We are growing, and we are hiring our first Operations Manager to take ownership of how that growth gets delivered. The role You will own delivery. Once a project is sold, it becomes yours: getting orders specified, prioritized, and into finance's hands on time, production coordination, installation scheduling, and the client experience through completion. You will lead and grow our installation team, partner closely with our workroom, and be accountable for getting beautiful work into clients' homes on time and without drama. We have invested heavily in documenting how we work. Our processes, standards, and playbooks are written down and they are good. What we need is someone to run them consistently and then make them better. You will have real ownership, real authority, and a direct line to the owners. This is not a desk job. You will be in clients' homes regularly: walking a site before installation, standing on the job on install days, and solving problems in the room rather than over the phone. Our work is judged in the homes it lands in, and you need to be in them. Early on that means most jobs. As the installation team grows and gets stronger, it becomes the larger and more complicated ones. What you will own Getting complete specifications, priorities, and target dates to finance so orders are placed on time Vendor relationships, expediting, and lead time management once orders are out Production scheduling and priorities in partnership with our workroom Installation calendar, crew assignment, and field quality standards Pre-install site verification, and being on site when a job needs you there Leadership and development of our installation team Client delivery experience from handoff through completion Job costing, margin capture, and delivery performance reporting What we are looking for Meaningful operations experience in a service, trades, construction, manufacturing, or custom-product environment A track record of managing people and holding standards without heavy-handedness Organized in a way that does not rely on memory or heroics Someone who raises issues early, calmly, and specifically Steady under pressure, and able to give a client honest information with a real plan attached At ease in a high-end home, working alongside designers, trades, and homeowners Learns a system thoroughly before changing it, and improves it deliberately rather than replacing it Being straight with you We are a small, growing company, and we have the growing pains that come with that. Demand is strong. Our processes are documented and sound. What has been missing is dedicated ownership of delivery, and that is the role. If you want a large, fully staffed operation to maintain, this is not it.
Compensation and benefits Base salary:
$75,000 to $90,000, depending on experience Performance incentive tied to installation performance and delivery results Paid time off, paid sick leave, and paid holidays Medical, dental, and vision insurance Life insurance 401(k) with company matching How we work We grow on purpose We do right by each other We sweat the details and chase better We own it We find a way We communicate like it matters To apply: Send your resume and a short note telling us about an operation you inherited that was not running well, and what you did about it.
