$115,000-$155,000 per year

Full-time About the Role MTH Landscaping is looking for a Director of Field Operations to take charge of how our company operates across all divisions. This is not a maintenance role. It is a high-authority build-and-change position for an experienced operator who can improve systems, strengthen accountability, reduce waste, and help make the company consistently profitable. You will report directly to the CEO and lead two Field Operations Managers. Your primary financial responsibility will be improving gross margin through better scheduling, job costing, labor control, equipment and material readiness, production systems, and communication between Sales and Operations. What You'll Do Lead companywide operations across all divisions Manage and develop two Field Operations Managers Own scheduling, capacity planning, logistics, and field readiness Ensure crews have the correct equipment, materials, labor plan, and job information Identify and correct labor overruns before they become larger losses Review estimated-versus-actual job performance Improve gross margin through better production and operational systems Communicate schedule, labor, equipment, material, and scope misses clearly Improve our use of LMN for scheduling, job costing, and operational visibility Create and implement SOPs that solve recurring company problems Build accountability systems and operating rhythms Improve sales-to-operations handoffs Use AI and technology, including LeanScaper, Claude, and ChatGPT, to improve workflows Make meaningful operational changes independently within your authority What Success Looks Like Within your first year, you will help

Improve gross margin Reduce labor overruns Reduce delays caused by missing or incorrect equipment and materials Improve scheduling and job readiness Create better visibility into job performance Establish practical SOPs and accountability systems Reduce the amount of daily operational firefighting required from the CEO What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Has proven operations leadership experience in landscaping, construction, field services, or a related industry Understands scheduling, job costing, labor productivity, and field logistics Can take charge and make changes without needing constant direction Is comfortable entering a company with systems that need to be improved Can hold managers accountable while earning their trust Thinks in systems and looks for root causes instead of repeatedly fixing symptoms Communicates directly, clearly, and early when something is off track Is comfortable learning and improving LMN Is open to using AI and technology to improve business workflows Has a valid driver's license Is hands-on, analytical, decisive, organized, and practical Decision-Making Authority This person will be expected to independently implement routine changes to scheduling, workflows, LMN usage, SOPs, job reviews, accountability systems, and field coordination. CEO approval will be required for major budget commitments, compensation changes, hiring or termination decisions, organizational structure changes, major equipment purchases, and other high-risk decisions.
