Position Summary The Regional Manager (RM) owns the people, priorities, performance, capacity, and continued development of an assigned OPT region. This is an opportunity to take meaningful ownership in a growing organization. As OPT expands its markets, team, and field leadership structure, the RM will play an important role in building the people, operating discipline, and leadership capacity needed for the next stage of growth. The RM leads a regional team composed of Assistant Regional Managers (ARMs) and Pest Management Professionals (PMPs) and owns Leadership, Management, and Accountability (LMA) for the entire team. ARMs extend the RM's leadership through field coaching and development, while centralized support manages much of the routine scheduling and coordination. The RM maintains the broader view—building the people and capacity needed today while improving performance and preparing the region for continued growth. Lead Prioritize Deploy Improve Grow Location & Regional Coverage This position will lead an assigned region across portions of southeastern South Dakota, Nebraska, and northwestern Iowa , with regular travel throughout the region. Candidates located in or near the Yankton or Norfolk areas are preferred due to its proximity to the markets and teams this position will support. Core Responsibilities 1. People Leadership & Accountability Own LMA for the region's ARMs and PMPs, including expectations, one-on-ones, recognition, performance management, corrective action, retention, and talent development. Coach and develop ARMs and ensure effective PMP coaching and development in the field. Use field observations, QA findings, KPIs, and customer feedback to drive timely and consistent accountability. Identify and develop future leaders and succession depth. 2. Regional Performance & Priorities Own regional operational, customer, people, and growth results. Identify performance gaps and emerging needs, establish priorities, assign ownership, and ensure follow-through. Use KPIs and operating data to evaluate performance, identify trends, and guide decisions. Translate company goals into clear regional expectations and action. 3. Field Resource & Capacity Management Own regional workforce and capacity planning, staying ahead of staffing needs based on workload, turnover, seasonality, and growth. Lead recruiting, interviewing, selection, and hiring for regional field positions. Own route coverage, workload distribution, geographic efficiency, and field capacity across the region. Deploy ARMs and field resources based on business needs and anticipate where additional resources will be required. Partner with centralized support while maintaining regional ownership of staffing, capacity, and resource priorities. 4. Process & Operational Improvement Identify process, workflow, and operational gaps affecting regional performance. Use data, QA findings, customer feedback, and field observations to identify root causes and improvement opportunities. Implement sustainable solutions that improve efficiency, quality, customer experience, and consistency. Partner cross-functionally to remove barriers and improve execution. 5. Culture, Standards & Regional Growth Build one regional team operating to consistent company standards and PILLARS. Prevent geographic or "my guys" silos and reinforce shared accountability across markets. Lead company initiatives and support customer retention, market growth, and expansion. Develop the talent and leadership capacity needed for continued growth and future regional expansion. What Success Looks Like A successful Regional Manager builds a region with strong people, clear accountability, sustainable capacity, consistent execution, and the ability to grow. The RM develops capable leaders, stays ahead of hiring and capacity needs, establishes the right priorities, and ensures problems get resolved. The region performs and grows without depending on the RM to personally manage every schedule, route, or daily field issue— creating the leadership capacity for OPT to continue scaling. Qualifications The strongest candidates will bring: Demonstrated success leading teams and managing performance and accountability. Experience leading operations across multiple teams, territories, or locations. Strong coaching, leadership development, and talent-development capabilities. Experience with recruiting, hiring, workforce planning, and capacity management. Ability to prioritize competing needs and deploy people and resources effectively. Ability to use KPIs and operational information to drive decisions and improvement. Strong communication, judgment, problem-solving, and follow-through. Willingness and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region. Experience in pest control, route-based service, field service, or similar operations is valuable, but pest-control experience is not required for a candidate with strong leadership and operational experience. $85,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
