Exempt Salary:
$48,000-55,000 Position Summary The Director of Operations is responsible for the successful day-to-day operation of the Mariemont Theatre. This position oversees theatre operations, guest services, staffing, facilities, concessions, technology, and financial controls while ensuring every guest enjoys an exceptional experience. Working closely with the Executive Director and Director of Curation, the Director of Operations transforms artistic programming into seamless, welcoming experiences for audiences, filmmakers, renters, and community partners. The ideal candidate is an exceptional people manager who enjoys building systems, solving problems, coaching teams, and creating operational excellence. Responsibilities Operations Leadership Lead daily operations of the five-screen Mariemont Theatre. Supervise the Guest Experience Manager, Technical & Projection Manager, and Front of House Hosts. Develop operating procedures that prioritize hospitality, efficiency, and safety. Oversee theatre readiness, cleanliness, presentation, and accessibility. Serve as Manager on Duty for evenings, weekends, and major events as needed. Staff Leadership Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop theatre staff. Create employee schedules and manage labor budgets. Foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture. Conduct coaching conversations and performance evaluations. Ensure compliance with HR policies and workplace standards. Financial & Business Operations Manage concessions inventory and vendor relationships. Oversee payroll, cash handling, deposits, and daily financial reconciliation. Monitor labor costs, inventory, and operating expenses. Assist in annual budgeting and operational forecasting. Analyze attendance and sales trends to improve performance. Facilities & Technology Oversee maintenance of the building, projection systems, concessions equipment, and theatre technology. Coordinate contractors, vendors, and service providers. Maintain safety, licensing, and regulatory compliance. Develop preventative maintenance schedules for all theatre systems. Events & Rentals Coordinate operational logistics for rentals, private events, premieres, filmmaker visits, and community programming. Ensure staffing and operational readiness for all special events. Collaborate across departments to create memorable guest experiences. This role reports directly to the CIFF Executive Director.
