Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and highly organized Open Deck Fleet Manager and Operations professional to lead our fleet management and logistics operations. In this role, you will oversee the coordination, planning, and execution of open deck vessel operations, ensuring seamless transportation and supply chain efficiency. Your expertise will drive process improvements, optimize inventory control, and foster strong vendor relationships to support our global shipping needs. Duties Manage the scheduling, routing, and dispatching of open deck vessels to meet delivery deadlines while optimizing costs and resource utilization. Oversee warehouse distribution activities related to open deck cargo, including shipping & receiving, materials handling, and inventory management systems. Collaborate with procurement teams to source vessels, negotiate contracts, and manage vendor relationships ensuring compliance with trade regulations and trade compliance standards. Utilize transportation management systems (TMS), ERP systems such as AS400 or SAP, and SQL-based data analysis tools like Tableau for data collection, analysis, and reporting on fleet performance and supply chain analytics. Conduct root cause analysis to identify operational bottlenecks or issues in freight movement or warehouse operations; implement process improvements for efficiency gains. Coordinate cross-functional communication among logistics, customer service, production planning, and sourcing teams to ensure smooth order fulfillment and demand planning. Monitor freight costs, pricing strategies, and profit & loss metrics; develop strategies for cost reduction while maintaining high service levels. Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier) standards for shipping logistics. Lead safety initiatives related to manual handling, forklift operations, and warehouse safety protocols in line with industry standards. Maintain comprehensive records of shipments, contracts, vendor management activities, and performance metrics for continuous improvement. Qualifications Proven experience practicing in a supply chain operations role with a focus on warehouse management, transportation planning, or fleet management. Strong data analysis skills using tools such as Excel (including data analysis and spreadsheets), SQL, Tableau or similar platforms. Extensive knowledge of warehouse experience including inventory control systems (WMS), inventory management systems (IMS), and transportation management systems (TMS). Familiarity with procurement processes including sourcing, negotiation, vendor management, and contract administration. Hands-on experience with freight logistics including shipping & receiving procedures, NVOCC operations, cross-docking, and 3PL partnerships. Technical proficiency in ERP systems such as SAP or AS400; working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is essential. Ability to perform root cause analysis to resolve operational issues quickly; strong problem-solving skills are vital. Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration across supply chain functions globally. Certifications or training in forklift operation preferred; knowledge of international trade regulations is a plus. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. $60,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
