This role oversees company operations, finance, and HR, ensuring systems, processes, and people function efficiently to support growth and long-term sustainability. Acting as the operational leader and partner to the CEO, the Director of Operations manages cross-functional initiatives, maintains organizational health, and ensures the company runs smoothly day to day.
Duties Strategic Planning & Leadership:
  • Translate the CEO's high-level ideas into concrete business initiatives
  • Create quarterly strategic plans based on company vision and goals
  • Serve as the decision-making buffer between the CEO and the team
  • Establish recurring check-ins with CEO to align on priorities and filter new ideas
  • Serve as decision-maker in CEO's absence, following established protocols
  • Manage major cross-functional initiatives
  • Ensure alignment between business goals and client strategy
  • Forecast future resource needs (people, tech, budget) based on roadmap
  • Run quarterly business health audits (people, process, profit)
Operations & Systems Management:
  • Anticipate operational bottlenecks and proactively solve for them
  • Identify and implement systems for scaling the business efficiently
  • Vet and approve new software/tool purchases based on need and ROI
  • Manage internal dashboards for team accountability and transparency
  • Manage company scorecard with weekly performance metrics
  • Map out project timelines and ensure realistic pacing
  • Manage special projects
  • Oversee interdepartmental alignment (Marketing, Ops, Client Experience)
Financial Oversight & Compliance:
  • Oversee financial reporting and business compliance
  • Manage budget
  • Compile end-of-year financial reports
  • Ensure sufficient funds for payroll and contractor payments
  • Review and update payroll tax filings for accuracy
  • Reconcile payroll tax liabilities and submit adjustments
People Management & HR Administration:
  • Develop and own the company org chart, revising roles as needed
  • Identify team skill gaps and recommend promotions or hires
  • Schedule and participate in interviews for new hires
  • Conduct reference and background checks
  • Onboard new hires and set up payroll and benefits
  • Conduct 30/60/90-day check-ins for new employees
  • Conduct and document annual performance reviews
  • Administer and update employee benefits enrollments
  • Conduct benefits audit and process corrections
  • Track, review, and approve PTO/sick leave
  • Process and submit expense reimbursements
  • Handle all employee relations and HR matters
  • Review and update the employee handbook annually
  • Maintain and archive terminated employee records per state laws
  • Reply to team member complaints and document outcomes
Culture & Organizational Health:
  • Oversee company culture initiatives and morale checkpoints
  • Develop succession plans for key roles and reduce key-person risk
  • Lead post-mortems on major launches, retreats, or product failures
  • Lead weekly staff meetings
  • Hold team accountable for execution and deliverables
Collaboration & Executive Support:
  • Collaborate with CEO to filter ideas through a feasibility lens
  • Act as the gatekeeper for incoming ideas, meetings, and requests so CEO stays focused on high-value creative work
  • Prioritize competing business ideas and initiatives to prevent overload
  • Serve as the decision-maker for "scope creep" on initiatives Education & Experience Bachelor's degree (business administration or similar preferred) Proven experience in senior management roles with a strong background in operations management, finance, and strategic planning Demonstrated success leading cross-functional teams in fast-paced environments with a focus on process improvement Expertise in people and project management to drive organizational growth Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration Knowledge of industry best practices in operations management with an emphasis on continuous improvement strategies Experience implementing scalable systems and managing budgets Join us as a Director of Operations , where your strategic vision and leadership will shape the future of our organization.
