Position Summary The Director of Strategic Initiatives works closely with the Executive Director to turn organizational priorities into action across Butler Coffee Lab and Keystone Talent Bridge. This is a high-trust, cross-functional role focused on keeping important projects moving, strengthening accountability, improving organizational systems, and solving problems before they require executive intervention.
The goal is simple:
help the organization execute effectively while reducing the amount of day-to-day coordination and follow-up that falls directly on the Executive Director. Key Responsibilities Lead and coordinate major organizational initiatives from planning through completion. Translate Executive Director priorities into clear projects, owners, deadlines, and next steps. Track projects, commitments, and organizational priorities to ensure consistent follow-through. Coordinate work across programs, production, operations, partnerships, fundraising, and administration. Identify stalled projects, communication gaps, unclear responsibilities, and process issues and help develop solutions. Prepare meeting agendas, reports, dashboards, board materials, and organizational updates. Attend or represent the Executive Director in internal meetings when appropriate. Support onboarding, role clarity, performance documentation, and internal organizational processes. Help managers and staff maintain clear expectations and accountability. Develop and improve workflows, procedures, tracking systems, and other tools that strengthen organizational effectiveness. Step into high-priority projects or organizational needs when necessary. What Success Looks Like Major priorities consistently move forward. Staff understand responsibilities, deadlines, and expectations. Cross-department projects have clear ownership and follow-through. Problems are identified and addressed earlier. Organizational systems become stronger as the organization grows. The Executive Director spends less time chasing tasks, resolving routine issues, and serving as the default point person for everything. Ideal Qualifications Strong project management, organization, and follow-through. Excellent judgment, discretion, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across different areas of an organization. Strong written and verbal communication. Comfortable holding others accountable respectfully and professionally. Able to move between strategic thinking and hands-on execution. Comfortable working in a growing organization where systems and responsibilities continue to evolve.
