Exercises the overall responsibility for the operating unit, strategic planning, budget preparation, marketing strategy and manpower planning. When required will be responsible as the key contact for the media, where applicable, the Indian Tribes, and the community at large.
SYNOPSIS OF DUTIES
The Director of Casino Operations oversees the P & L responsibility for the operating units, works closely with General Manager/Assistant General Manager and management team to ensure maximum profitability while staying within budget; assist with the overall responsibility for strategic planning and marketing strategy for the unit. Assists with the responsibility for oversight of all areas of the operation including gaming, F&B, security, maintenance, financial and human resources, also promotes by leading the corporate culture and for supervising and motivating the Management team. Responsible for ensuring that all legal requirements for the operation are met and all internal controls are maintained. Gaming Compact, Tribal Gaming Ordinance, NIGC. Maintaining Title 31 Compliance accurately. Other duties as assigned. Review and create reports for Casino data, Comp data, Monthly Participation worksheets, Incident reports, Flash reports.
PREREQUISITES
Must be age 21 or older. Must qualify for a Tribal Primary gaming license.
EDUCATION
4-year degree or equivalent work experience in the gaming industry. Must be able to communicate in the primary language used in the workplace.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years in a senior managerial position involving slots operations and coordination of gaming, food & beverage, rooms and financial departments; 2 years' experience as Manager in a gaming operation in multi-cultural setting; must have participated in the development and opening of a casino resort at a senior level (minimum 400 machines); must be fully conversant with the hardware and software required for slots operations including on-line systems, (i.e. Oasis and Seagate Crystal report writing).
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Requires superior human relations skills. Must be able to prioritize duties and coordinate activities across departments. Must be able to operate a personal computer, effectively utilizing software for word processing (MS Word), spreadsheet (MS Excel), and personal work organization and communication (MS Outlook) software.
PHYSICAL
Requires ability to speak clearly and listen attentively to employees and guests, cannot be color blind; bending, reaching, standing, walking, sitting, grasping, finger dexterity, and repetitive motions.
